Has your daughter returned to her house? Hopefully the fire doesn't jump the 5.
Not home yet, my guess was evacuated due to the smoke. Sure hope they get to go back home today. Tough trying to explain to 4 young kids why we have to leave and not scare them.

We are basically calm here right now.
Just went out in my backyard and I guess the fire dept came back there and moved all the cushions off of all our furniture to be as far away from the house as possible.
Doh. I didn’t even think of that.
Thankfully all is good just an ashy mess. 👍

Thank you everyone for all the positive thoughts and well wishes ♥️

How is the fire today?

The fire is "looking pretty quiet" this morning, per air attack. Most of the activity is in the vicinity of Lake Hughes Road on the east side of the fire. This will likely be a priority today. Per South Ops, the fire had minimal activity overnight with creeping and backing. Air attack has requested two Type 1 copters. The fire remains 10,176 acres and 14% contained.

Just south of us, had a bird's eye view of the aerial while bogged down in the traffic mess on 15 south. Wife works nearby, most the company staff had a view of the action. Talk was, there was a homeless camp in that draw where it started.
Considering the large number of fires started mysteriously at the locations of these 'Camps', to bad we can get some reporter type to, investigate how many and where and run a special on it through a media that even the Homeless Do Gooders couldn't ignore.
Yeah, I was listening and couldn't ignore that our captain was calling in Reach, come to find out allegedly a homeless man started it and ended up with some burns. So glad they cleaned up the Esco river a few months ago.

They should of flown him over top the fire and thrown his ass out. Now we're paying for his medical and the fire damage. Ridiculous!

on top of that, some dingbat thought a drone might be a good idea... people really need to get a clue. It downed the air crew for a bit, which can be precious minutes in the fight to save homes.

Flying out of Ontario today.

Drove in from the east side of the airport. When I looked down the runway, there was a mini dust storm like 75-100’ tall.

Sitting on the plane now at the gate, whole plane is shaking like we’re taxi-ing around.

I think there’s about 24 more hours of this before we’re in the clear.
