My dually was hit last Thursday night parked in front of my house, rear end and bed damage, I spoke with the adjuster yesterday and she said a appraiser would call me and set up a time to meet between 1&3 today, no call yet and I've call the adjuster and left a message, no response. Is this normal? Or am I just being to bitchy? image.jpg

I'd turn it over to my insurance, get it fixed and have them deal with the at fault insurance carrier.

I've had to do this several times. Let your insurance deal with it. That's what you pay them for.

I've owned a body shop for 32 years..so was it hit and run?? Or are you the claimant?? If you are the claimant...keep on them and you have a right to be upset for a broken appt..But involving your insurance company will cost you a deductible until settled..could be quick or could be slow...I think I would stay after the one your dealing with..

Take care of it your self, that's if you want it done right. The other insurance company will low ball you for cost and repair.
Get it done and have your insurance company send them the bill.

If the other driver received a ticket and has clear liability, and you have reasonable insurance (not GEICO), your insurance company should fix it, get you a rental and subrogate with the other insurance company. No deductible or any thing else out of pocket.

Been dealing with a similar, much less severe, deal for almost 4 months! Dumbass hit my wife while texting and we'll be in small claims court next month. No body damage to her van, just a bent rim, blew the tire and a ball joint and needed an alignment. We wanted to update the rims anyway, so whatever. His insurance company decided it was 50/50 even though he ran the stop sign and was texting. We got the $350 check and will have to sue him for the other $350. Total waste of time, but that's what our insurance tells us we have to do..... My wife has the "Hell No muther fuker" attitude and has the spare time to deal with it, so be it. His truck needed a grill, headlight/signal assembly, fender and hood and our insurance isn't going to give him a dime.

Insurance companies suck!!

Good luck!

It's normal with MOST insurance companies. AAA is prolly the best when you actually DO have an accident. Everyone else is down from there. You pretty much get what you pay for.

It wasn't hit n run, a neighbor, I'm dealing with his Farmers Insurance, they just called and were totally cool, renting me a dually. Agreed to everything I asked for. Thanks for the input. Here's a picture of the accident where the guy came to rest.... I've seen a lot of rollovers, He must have stood straight up on end... image.jpg

I have Farmers, I've had 3 "not at fault" claims and they were AWESOME to deal with. Kept every appointment, paid for the total loss on my car within 2 weeks and were always on their game when it came to communication. Almost too much.

What's up with Enterprise? I may be able to go with Galpin studio rentals.

Same thing happened to me. My Tahoe was totalled while parked in front of my house at 01am. The person actually tried to drive away, but only made it about 6 houses. Cop did not write it as hit and run though. The lady never came down and spoke to my wife (I was out of town). She stayed 6 houses down the whole time.

AAA has been my insurance co for 24 year, I don't know who the other person had. AAA was great about the whole thing. I never had to pay anything. I told them I was parked legally, and they said that doesn't matter. The other person is at fault when hitting a parked car (or any object not moving) regardless of it being legally parked. They did total my truck, as the other Tahoe had driven down the entire side of it, and both axles were cocked. They were good about that too though, and we negotiated what I thought was a fair price. It was all done, check in hand, within about two weeks.

On a side note... The lady that hit my truck did come to our house the next day and spoke to my wife. Said she was the one that hit our truck, but never apologized. Said she needed our insurance and other details. My little wife told her to pound sand! Said you can get if from the police report. The lady said, fine if that's the way you want to play it. My wife said it was! She was pissed the lady tried to run and then never even apologized.

Your wife is nuts. No one should be held responsible or accountable for their actions. :D Your wife needs to conform to the new "entitlement" standards. :smackbum: :rotflmao:

I'm going to make the grammar corrections a punishable offense on Rdp, if the Nazi's kept it up..

What'cha got in mind?

You're looking at this all wrong Dave. Think about it... You are considering punishment for the person who knows how to speak and write English, to protect the sensitivities of those who don't.

You need to make the grammar offense punishable if anything.

And, since RDP is an acronym... It's capitalized.

Actually, RDP is an initialism, not an acronym, unless you can find a way to pronounce RDP :D
