I took a trip out to Laughlin for a quick decompression weekend with my wife. While there, I ran over to the boat storage and installed the sea pump I ordered months back even though, I'm dropping the boat off for annual service. LOL! Planning to upgrade a few things while it is there. Stage 2 Whipple and a Max Machine cav plate.

What are you prepping/upgrading for this coming season?

Thinking about changing the rub rail. Just not sure if we should stick with black, or change it to white or polished aluminum.

The trailer needs new wiring and lights

Ours needs a full exterior cut and polish, need new marine mat for the swim platforms (lasted 6 years), and a couple of very small vinyl seam tears fixed.

Or I just say screw all of that and get a new boat? 🙃

On the 12th it's headed to the shop for annual service, and a couple new batteries, nothing special. The trailer brakes and lights need attention, but I'll handle that on my own.

Easy Stuff.

New carpet, my boat is an off-the-shelf model and I found a company that has a pattern and sells them aftermarket... Nuthin fancy, more of a maintenance item (vs. an upgrade...) since my old one is shot.

Fixing my boat lift. I’ll see myself out 🤣

Need to have WOT marine service the boat. I’m really hoping a new 300 is in the cards. Will just have to see how the next few months go 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Pulled the steps for stripping, polishing, and re-coat. Service and impeller. Want, but don't need new wheels for the trailer, fix a light issue, and have the bearings serviced. Not sure I'll get to the gel coat issue or not before the season.

Pulled engine for inspection, changed all fluids, rebuilt seawater pump, installed inside steering hyd kit to helm, new steering wheel. On trailer I installed new brakes and hubs, wheels and tires.

Oil change and rebuild the carb. I really need to do bunks as I think there is more duct tape than wood or carpet now. It 100% needs tires but it only travels maybe 10 miles a year so we will try and run them again. I might actually need to put air in them this year!

Hopefully it's just the engine oil, gear oil, and the impellor on the Eliminator. Finished up last night and did a visual for loose bolts and minor stuff. Might do a test run on Sat at Canyon Lake. I Might have a lower on the Mach 22 that needs resealing, I'll check it next time in Havasu and have Joe repair if there is moisture in there. Had it out on New Year's Day and changed the fluid that morning, looked good so hopefully it's sealed. Hopefully a trouble free boating season.

The Bernico got a water pump and lower oil change, along with a healthy clean and buff. But that was 20ish hours ago already.

Just glassed the stringer and transom into my daughters 14'. Have a vintage 25hp Merc that is slated for it, but halfhearted looking for a modern 60ish hp motor too.

Pontoon is about due for an oil change, will get lower serviced and a water pump at the same time.

Well I have pretty much everything that I need for my new engine build so as long as I don’t get sidetracked I may have a fresh and potent motor sometime this summer.

Well, I got the boat back from service.... So much for the Whipple upgrade this year. Had to rebuild the lower so that ate up all of my FUN money.

The Baja, pull the motor and find the small oil leak in the back right corner of the motor. Might be just a oil pan gasket, I hope. The CP (see avatar), set the valve lash and polish the valve covers, that's all. OH, fresh oil and filter in both..

This made me really start thinking. Dear lord it’s going to be a spendy few months with what these things need.

Nautique-
Service, impeller, cut/buff exterior, interior detail, plate cover, joystick control replaced…. Dealer will do all of this

Yott- (2 motors)
Service, impellers…… I will service, dealer will handle impellers.

Cruiser Jet-
Service, detail in/out, bunks on trailer…… I will do all.

Game Over-
Nothing. All new motor (another one) just went in. Let’s go make passes!

Need to re-carpet the Eliminator. Anyone have a source for good marine 30oz or better carpet. I need 8' x 30' in light grey.
All of the other projects got done over the past few months.

Thanks for the information. Apparently they don't have marine carpet over 80" in width.

The Malibu outboard is getting a new drivers seat and the observers seat recovered. I want to replace the carpet with Seadek and put on a new rubrail but not sure I'll get to it this year..........

The shop picked up the Laveycraft today for it's annual and fix a few things. Goes up for sale when it comes back. The Cougar is an easy keeper, just a few things it will be good to go for summer. Once the new boat gets here end of year hopefully the Cougar goes up for sale as well.

I usually top off the batteries the night before, and then, before starting, I hook up the hose, and turn the hose on high and let it run for 5 minutes, while I pop the hatch, and look around, before starting, and after it’s running. Never run it more than 3-5 minutes on the hose, and never more than 1500 rpm’s. Never put it in gear without it being in the water.

The maintenance on a Mercruiser 260 Alpha one rev 1. is minimal. (Just don’t beat it.)

40 years plus, and I’m running the same belts and hoses( and have never needed a reason to adjust them 😁), date codes on the Gates Hoses will prove it. Same water pump. 😁

I do all my routine maintenance when it hits 25 hours…..I don’t worry about how long between intervals. Routine maintenance is lube, oil, filter, and grease the outdrive. It’s stored inside, with an A/C set at 85F. I rebuilt the carburetor at 20 years, and replaced the original fuel pump. Probably was a fuel pump problem al along🤔.

If you race around the lake, and leave it stored outside, all bets are off. I give it one season. 😂

Picked up a set of ASD-7’s out of Detroit last weekend. Nothing to put them on yet.

Borderline being harassed that it has to be a Cig.
