I just found out that the late night writers have been on strike for going on 3 months and there hasn’t been any late night TV shows the entire time. How much do you care about this strike?

Don’t miss or really care about any TV/Movies. There are a few inmates that depend on the industry that I’d like to see back working again.
Kind of how I feel. It doesn't bother me at all, I don't watch anything "current". I feel bad for those not working though.

Honestly, one of the things that scared me away from unions. It always bothered me I could be told I couldn't work.

This. Hate to see people impacted. Also hate to see people in unions that dictate what’s best for them, but it’s part of life.

Have some fun and go look at the Tomoght Show, with Johnny Carson circa 1970-80 something.
Better than anything those hacks can write.

So, are we to the fuck unions stage yet?😈

Ask the union members when they have had enough fuckery.

We’ve been watching The Price Is Right reruns from the early 80s all summer. It’s awesome and my kids now know about inflation, and what a can of beans and a Dustbuster cost in 1983 😂.

👍
Now throw down with some Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts.
Then they can get an idea of what comedy used to be👍

It's rare I tune onto any network stations other than a few we watch together.

There are more than a few...

What sucks is, their unions are Not on strike, but they have to support each other.

Hope these guys all get to go back to work soon. 😔

Can’t even remember the last time I watched a late night tv show. Even stopped watching SNL when they went full trump hysteria. Sniveling about shit you’re unhappy with isn’t funny.

Have not watched TV for 8 months.

But I hope they get it figured out. Next door neighbor Kid bought his first house. Total fixer upper. And now out of work for months. He owes me a few thousand for some work for a few months now. But I was hoping he would be back working again before I ask him for it. It's out of his hands and I understand.

Yea, they hade ONE JOB, and it was a well paying easy job at that. Just make us laugh. Instead they lecture us with their anti-American dogma, to the point that AI now writes better jokes than the writers do.

Go woke, go broke. The impacted people should blame the writers.

I watched a clip of Louie Anderson's first appearance on the Tonight Show a couple of weeks ago. The first three minutes are fuggin' hilarious, I was crying with laughter.

I don’t watch TV much. I’m 62, and grew up in a garage, boathouse, or a hangar.

It’s bad enough I have the internet, but I make up for it, by having the latest repair techniques at the touch of my finger tips.

I don’t watch but I know at one point Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers were personally covering a percentage of the crew’s salary to just help them keep food on the table. Something like a million a week. I think he stopped though when it got into multiple months.

Damn, it's Summer. Should be busy.
Y'all are in SoCal. I think. What does the Kid do? In the Trades?

I havent watched anything from the MSM in a couple years. Re-runs of Family Feud on Game Show network are still on when we jump into bed at night so nothing has changed.

Not sure what his job title is. He builds the sets for movies. He said they are all out of work not just his division. Writers strike last I heard. But another one was coming up for negotiations. Been months. A lot of people are affected.

If the writers would have just done their job and wrote jokes, none of this would be happening.

They have been getting away with pushing their wokeisim for so long that nobody even watches their crap anymore.

Can we bring back some old writers for commercials?

The current commercials are just plain embarrassing.

I hope that it doesn't end ever! Hollywood sucks!
Being in the oilfield, I have little empathy. My job can and has ended in the middle of a workday. No warnings, just “shut er down”.
That’s the way she goes.

A TV writers union strike apparently shuts down operations so support workers are out of work, but not actually in that union?
Go get another job. Ive done it countless times and so have a lot of you.

Frankly, if the strike ending means the talking late night ghouls continue their televised anti American gibberish then I too would not be upset if they impasse for a while.

It’s one of those “what are you prepared to do” moments.
