My son recently got into Airsoft, went with his friends and rented gear a couple of times, talks me into taking him to the Airsoft store to look at guns....man, these things look, feel, and operate like the real thing....I went in thinking a budget of like under $200 would be good....that was wrong, you dont even get into the decent guns until like the $250 mark...then add a couple of batteries (lucky for us with all our RC stuff, we already have a good charger), a couple of mags, a speed loader....it ads up real quick!

I got him this gun, and it weighs and feels about the same as my real AR Pistol...

Anyone else into this?

That thing is cool! I would make sure it stays in the back yard, thing looks real! Except of course for the orange mussel break.

Airsoft guns are amazing. I have a fairly nice 1911 style airsoft that other than noise and kick it is exactly the same. They even weighted it the same.

They are so good my fear is kids will think of guns as toys and not tools. Please teach him proper gun safety

He hunts and shoots with me and has his own Ruger 10/22. .410, 20ga, and an AR-22....he knows his way around real guns and we already had the conversation about treating the Airsoft gun as a real one so that he doesnt fall into any bad habits with the real ones...

It actually came with a metal muzzle brake as well, I put this one on and you can 100% not tell if its real or not...told the kid, the orange one stays on at all times...

Bad ass gun, I’m sure your son is stoked.

I just pulled this out of storage, I have used it maybe twice since new 10 years ago. I can’t guarantee it works still, but if someone’s kid wants it it’s free.

My boys are pretty into it. They use the biodegradable pellets out here in the woods. Redding has a nice airsoft spot they hit up every time we're over there.

Cool, my family is from Redding, I spent many summers there while growing up, but back in those days we shot each other with real bb guns...lol

If no kids jump on this, let me know...I think you might be somewhat local to me...

My kids would love that. We’re in San Diego and truck the kids out a few times a year to the battlegrounds. if you’re willing to ship, I’ll make it happen. Rad

Used to play with my son and nephews. We had a lot of fun.

Still have LOT of gear in the garage. Clothing guns etc.

My son moved on to play competitive paintball which is whole new level of intensity and $$$

My 10 year old is getting into paintball. I’m not sure if he’s ever messed with an air soft gun. They started w gel blasters and now they all want to paintball

I did the paintball thing too, I had some buddies that were really into it growing up. I just never could get hooked. The gel guns seem to be the new hot thing.

What's the difference from air soft to BB or pellet? I know nothing about these.
As a kid we had shit BB guns. Try and hit anything anywhere.
Do you target people like paint ball?

I've been into airsoft since about 1999. Have several. I like buying them in Canada. No law about having an orange muzzle. The guns here therefore look even more real and make a nice display. Mine are in storage or Id have them on display. This shop isn't too far from me: https://triggerairsoft.com/shop

A few stores have gone under around here. Prices have gone insane. You used to be able to buy them retail here and flip them on Ebay for a profit in the States.

My kid were into this for awhile. I was finding airsoft pellets in my house and yard for years after they moved out.

^fkn this....my kid just got his gun on Friday last week, we didn't even get any ammo for it until Sunday, and my backyard already has them all over the place...I got a big box and hung the target in front of the opening, so its catching alot of them now...but damn on full auto that thing shoots a whole magazine of 120pellets in like 20 seconds...lol

I had a coworker that did this thing on the next level. He was military at the time and he used to travel the country playing in tournaments. They used real NVG's and other military equipment. I saw some videos he posted and that shit looked like a real fire fight from the war.

I will say that’s the best thing about the gel blasters. No mess but obviously not nearly as fun or capable as airsoft.
