I think that at the time Tommy they did not have the laws in place. Those laws might have been created by the challenges and complaints made from your neighborhood.
You may be right and I would not doubt that at all Tim.
You’ve been to that house I lived in. It’s a nice place in a decent neighborhood.
You’ve seen the BnB and it is a baller Airbnb.
It’s set up to the hilt for 3 day parties.

I don’t know if you remember how tall my side of that wall was, but when those pit bulls came over it that was impressive!
I sent the owner the surveillance pics. We were both impressed big time that those dogs pulled that off!
Still, he called them right away and told them control the animals or get out.

Oh yeah I remember the backyard and the struggle that you had. We have one house near us. Not ABNB but the people roll in Friday night and a good time for the weekend and roll out Sunday am and we don’t hear from them for another month. Not as bad as the weekly for you. That can be a challenge in this town. The good thing is most of our neighbors are retired full timers. If there are any parties was are invited and they are closed down to most guests around 10-11pm. We do have a few remaining until 1-3am but we are quite inside or in the jacuzzi. This happens only 1-2 times a year.

I would have offered him a $50.00 to the China Buffet. Gotta offer something for his trouble.

… This isn’t my entire take…on this deal…😳
… Don’t really wanna piss somebody off that I don’t really know…

…But it did make me think a little bit about my younger days…
… I have lived in vacation areas a few times… And yeah I guess I have been a participant in the renter problem🤷🏽‍♀️…hmmm???…

We have been super fortunate to have a great base of repeat renters at our house. Most have rented from us for years now and a lot from RDP.

I just happened to get a request for 44 nights starting 1/15/25 - 2/28/25.

Today I tried to cancel the reservation on AirBNB, as we have decided to use OUR HOUSE during the dates and it's a $279 fee to me on next payout. Here is my text thread with him.

Society is literally going to shit. No one has any compassion to a fellow man anymore. Sad world we live in.

I got lucky. I had the same situation. A lady booked my home for 4th of July week 2025. Literally July 10, of this year. I didn't get a chance to block it out. I asked her nicely to cancel and she did.

The way I read the other guys texts is that he didn’t want to lie or be a part of the fraud?

I don’t know what a “duecebag” is…but I know what a douchebag is…and the other guy doesn’t seem like one to me?

$279 is less than a summer months electric bill in Havasu.
Our guy here will be lucky if the other party doesn’t ding him with Airbnb.
You don’t know what a #2 is? 💩 💩 💩

I am sure this couple spent time going through ads looking at places before deciding on yours. Now they have to start over. There was a reason they picked yours.

44 nights is a long stretch. They might spend a bunch of time researching to find a place for that length of time that fits thier needs and likes.

Maybe you could have researched some alternatives and saved them the leg work.

You may not be happy they didnt cancel and save you the money but why come here and make it seem they are the bad guys. You are the one pulling the rug out from under them after agreeing to rent.

The Founding Fathers understood that contracts have causes and consequences.

On the causal front side, the Founders’ viewed contracts as logical and natural extensions of the moral rights of nature. They saw the right to form contracts as an addendum to the more fundamental rights to liberty and property, which are, of course, derivations from the right to life (i.e., man’s vested rights).

On the consequential back side, the Founders viewed contracts as basic moral and social values that unite free people for limited purposes. They saw contracts as reinforcing individual morality and social trust, which in turn promoted a vibrant market economy. In sum, then, contracts are the consequence of deeper moral causes, and they are also the cause of various social and economic consequences.

This is exactly how I feel. We book probably 2ish average VRBO's a year. I bet we normally spend 3-4 hours or more each time finding the right place, where exactly located in regards to our intended itinerary, back and forth choosing with friends, etc. I would be pissed!
