It's a tear down. Land value only. A developer will put up a Triplex McMansion and sale each unit for over a mil.

Must be original owner or the family of as the prior tax assessment was pennies! Would that be considered a tear down and build a new house on the property?

I m sure it will be in the back of a dump truck with in hour of getting a year down permit. The real question is rather it will be some max sqft zero lot line monster or a 2-5 unit. Unless the market crashes I would be shocked if it's worth 3x that in a year

Being flipped. Developer already has plan submitted to build new at that location.
A ton of lots are being sold west of the tracks. Wife and I looked at a few, but did not want to deal with a complete remodel. Choose to say 1 mile east of the beach and enjoy our 8 years left until mortgage free life!

It is so close to the water. The price does not surprise me one bit.

Live in Carlsbad, very close to this house. I would like to move to a different location in Carlsbad, but cannot justify the property tax. Bought my place over 20 years ago, pay $2900.00 a year. On a Million dollar home, $15,000.00 a year, with the new SALT tax limit of 10K, you lose the ability to write off that $5k, plus your maxed out, so you can not write off any CA state income taxes paid, which is 9.5% of income. So I am stuck and will stay. I like Carlsbad, there is always something happening in the area for entertainment.

Plenty of places to live a little farther east, I’m in Esco - Escondido, it’s super cheap here! You get a nice lot and put 4-5 trailers for the whole family to live. Chicken coops w/ roosters are optional!

We welcome anybody with yob!

We have a ton of Doller stores, super Mercado’s and don’t forget the super swap!
At the Escondido Swap Meet!.....

English as a 2nd language, please!

I’ve lived in Esco since 75! It’s a great place to raise a family, if you live outside of town!

My buddy just sold his place off Goldeneye up above costoco. Nice modern home 3 car and nice lot for 1.2. Crazy but it was a decent place. Looks like $350-400 sqft is going price for a sub-divn home

A 3 unit triplex is about to start being built there.

I used to live in a similar house about block from this house, on the corner of Pine and Garfield.... long time ago right before they built Dini's and the hotel, was a great view then. Moved inland a few miles to a bigger house ….. my kids are still pissed at me for moving and they weren't even born yet …. lol ..btw the house I lived in was torn down about 5 years ago and now its a tri plex or something like that

You’re giving them too much credit, they’re not that efficient. :D

Did you forget how much the fucked Healthcare into the ground? Let’s not forget how bad they turned a simple gas can design into a petroleum spillway, lol

I have seen quite a few changes and hear you. Before living in Carlsbad, I rented a place in Cardiff which was a duplex on Birmingham. The owner called me as he wanted to sell it very quick, wanted me to buy it, for 121K, the entire duplex. At that time, 121K, was a lot of money and interest rates were high. I still kick myself every time I drive past it.

Beautifully upgraded means slapped some paint on accent wall and LVP on one floor that doesn't match shit. So many turds wrapped in shinny paper. Think I am going to save my money for awhile. House hunting at this point needs a thermos of booze in hand to make tolerable.:(
