With all the rain this year did the way up river change? Anyone have a current aerial view?
We went from Havasu to Topoc on Saturday. The path upriver has not changed. At the mouth (river meets lake) they added some red bouys to denote the infamous shallow area. With all the rain this year did the way up river change? Anyone have a current aerial view?
Do you live in the refuge? We might be neighborsThis is from last Saturday. View attachment 1363371
It’s a no wake channel. How shallow is it on the west side of that island at the entrance to the river?
No I live on the southside of town. We were anchored in Speed Alley below the Refuge and I was flying my drone around and took a couple pictures of the opening.Do you live in the refuge? We might be neighbors
Looks the same as last year. Last year we saw a couple boats on the sandbar from our house. This is marginally helpful. A few weeks ago. Looks unchanged to me. View attachment 1363409 View attachment 1363410
Yes and yeswe dont venture down that far hardly ever.. is it that shallow in the area i highlighted? Is the red line the only safe way? View attachment 1363411

The dredging has filled in years ago, but depending on the lake level you can probably idle though there with a little trailer trim, kind of depends on the boat. That red stripe area marked is where we would always stay on plane and keep our feet up.
Is there still a navigation channel for no wake traffic on the Cali side?
I went up Monday, The red markers scared me for a second at 70 MPH, Thought they marked a sunken boat for a second, Should be fun this weekend !Was curious about the red markers. Didn’t know if it was for lane choice. Haha
Looks like you can instead of entering tight to the left you can continue straight and bear left entering on the opposite sideAt 4:30 today View attachment 1364237
