It happens so often that we get to see something new built, but never get to see the finished product. Last week we did an article about Adrenaline's new facility and some of their new capabilities. In the tail end of that article we show cased a new 47' trailer that they had built for local Sandy Dell's 2008 38' Doug Wright! Yesterday morning Wayne Monasmith shot me a text and asked if I would be interested in seeing the boat on the trailer for the first time. So I went down to Windsor to take a few pictures and see how it turned out as a package.

Both trailers backed into the water to make the transfer.

I took this opportunity to learn a little about my new SLR camera so I took a whole bunch of pics as the boat was maneuvering to the new trailer. The lines on the Doug Wright are just sexy as hell and now that the paint has been gone through by Phil Hatch (Bodyline in Lake Havasu) the boat is stunning.

New Trailer rear view - Notice the hoops that go up inside the tunnel now. On a side note it was about this time I figured out that if the batteries aren't fully charged on an SLR, they don't last very long. I had to shoot this pic and the next with my I phone.

Sandy's 38 Doug Wright is a show stopper now, and will be sure to break necks where ever it goes. The quote of the day comes from Sandy's mechanic AJ Barrett "You wouldn't think a trailer would make that big of a difference, but the new trailer really makes the boat Pop!"

For more information about trailer repair or to have Adrenaline quote building a new trailer for you please call 928-680-1030

Cool pics but I have two questions. First, are those Mercury motors in it? Looks to be 600's or 700's. Second, in the pic from the stern where it's sitting on the new trailer it looks like there is a gap between the bunks and the bottom of the boat. Was it designed that way?

The 2 hatch rams stopping at different heights when hatches are open is absolutely killing the OCD in me

Thanks for the update Dave.

On a side note, does anyone know what type of wireless headsets they are using? I am tired of my corded ones that are constantly breaking. It would be nice to step into a set of the bluetooth ones if the prices have come down.

Saw this boat when it was heading to storage on London Bridge Rd. There is a gap below the tunnel and the trailer... weight of the boat is carried on the sponsons not the tunnel. horizontal bars are structural but not load bearing.:cool

Sick in every good way it can be:thumbsup

What a beautiful boat and trailer. I agree with RD, the lines are stunning. All DW's are works of art and hard chargers.

From the picture sure looks like 6 drives. You can tell by how the tie bar is attached to the drive at the top of the drive.

I get that. The only reason I asked is because most of the catamaran trailers I have seen have the load bearing bunks on the tunnel. I don't know if it makes a difference.

Beautiful boat and trailer.

The boat is built with Merc 600's SSM 6 Drives and runs Herring props. The gap in the tunnel is intentional and the boat is supported on the sponsons primarily with a light load (just to keep it from bouncing mostly) on the tunnel in the front of the trailer.

The 2 hatch rams stopping at different heights when hatches are open is absolutely killing the OCD in me

I would imagine that the hatches stop at the same height, but the owner just opened them to that level. I almost asked him to make them even or close them, but I figured my OCD would show through.. LOL So I just bit my lip (literally, because that shit drives me nuts too) and took the pictures. :D

Beautiful boat and trailer.

Most the west coast cats with a center pod they support them in the tunnels.. To be honest I haven't paid too much attention to it one way or the other on the big boy east coast rides, but I'd assume you could do it either way.. With a tilt trailer I would think they would want to hold it with hoops via the actual tunnel of the boat.

The new trailer looks very sharp. Now the boat has a west coast look to it, very nice. I'm assuming that with the old trailer & the TNT on the side, that this boat was at one time an FL boat? Either way, the boat & new trailer great. Nice writeup & pics RD.:thumbsup

This boat did come out of Florida. If Sandy is up to it, we'll do an article on the boat when it gets closer to summer. :)

Beautiful boat and trailer. I saw the trailer at adrenaline a few weeks back and it looked sick. I was wondering what boat was going on it. Nice set up for sure.

Funny how that stuff would bother you guys. The one thing I cant stand, is when the owner of the boat walks across the bow with his shoes on.

They laid down large rubber backed carpets on the top when they were on top of the boat.

It's like putting on a nice Tux and just throwing on a pair of Sandals. Gotta look sharp from top to bottom.

Trust me it sucks when your trailer looks like shit. I had a center tire blow out and take out a fender. It took me longer than expected to get it fixed but when I did what a difference. Now I am not comparing my sled to Sandy's as his is way over the top and Adrenaline did a superb job on the trailer to make his whole rig look great. Trailer needs to match the boat, if not it is like a fat girl in a group of hot chicks... She doesn't look better they all look more average.

Grads, we always called those, "hoops". They are simply just to guide the boat on the bunks. Without them loading becomes an epic battle, and there is almost no way to drive it up.
Beautiful boat, but I have always heard this one had handling issues. It has been for sale forever. Good luck to the owner. :thumbsup

Nice setup. That's a bad ass trailer. I can personally attest to the difference in both looks and loading, from old to new trailers. Makes a huge difference. These guys did a great job on the trailer.

Good question, Doug Wright Boats along with Skater and MTI's rest on their splash rails supported by 4x4 bunks, the hoops you see are only to help guide boat on.

Completely off topic. But dos they tell you the reasoning behind the old trailer being AZ ref and the new being Montana? I'm assuming some sort of tax loophole?

Registration difference. Most likely he has his toys via a LLC in Montana

A lot of guys register their motor homes etc to Montana LLc's. For tax and registration purposes.. I'm not a 100% sure why but I will research it and write an article on the pros and cons of it.

There was thread on it recently. But more related to motor homes. I guess on a baller trailer like that it's the same deal.
