Hopefully that works. I talked to him a few years ago about picking up a hull so I could build my own.

My case was a little different. At the time they were willing to sell me just a hull and trailer because I used to rig for a an East Coast boat builder. I think generally they will sell only finished boats to ensure quality.

Let me know what you find out because he has designed some fantastic looking boats

So if I recall from memory, Dean is a wealthy guy with several successful business's. He wanted a particular boat built a certain way and since the builder would'nt make the changes he purchased the molds and redesigned the deck or something like that. I just really remember that it was a unique story. Pretty much this was a hobby, dream, another business venture maybe that just never matured. I had multiple discussions with one of his lead guys and he did build good boats and the rigging was quality.

It is a 26 Howard bottom with a new top deck.

As mentioned above they do/didn’t build a lot but of them but the ones that have been built are quality.

This is their Instagram in case the leads about don’t work out.

As just advice, if you have to work this hard to track someone down to get something built, that is typically an indicator on how the build will go. Knowing a guy that has one of these, they certainly wouldn't be my first choice in this size class. They are sexy though! I'd look to Cobra before these!

I know the 26 is the DCB f26 lower and upper but was cut and modified for a wrap around windshield. Was also under the understanding the 28 was the same lower mold but with added swim step and then their own upper.

On the 26, they had one at a past DS that had an upper that was a deckboat style. Super nice, sleek, sexy and very functional. I think it also had twin O/Bs on it as well.

I would be curious on the 28 if that is just a stretched DCB 26 and if it had been reworked to eliminate the hop. For that matter I wonder if the 26 bottom has also been fixed. Was it you that said Tony knew the fix for it? I wonder what the fix was?

The 28 is a 26 Howard bottom with a bustle

True if you have to hunt them down to give them money imagine what it will be like if they have your money.

I talked to Cobra the other day. New owner is eager, and they are pumping out good boats!

This. He modeled the top and deck to be similar to a Corvette.

BTW, there is zero hop. Rigging is top notch.

I really liked the quality of build from
What I saw in the Boatshow years back.

Are they still around? Haven’t heard much in a long time

I know Dean's been hard to reach. Had some health issues I think, but don't quote me. The boat is as bulletproof as possible. Zero issues after 5 years.

I know they were built very well just from crawling through them.

I think the one in the pic was involved in a roll over a few years back?

Not this one. This is Savage #3. The green/black one is #2. The first one has similar color scheme and pattern as this, but this one has the shear silver line extend past the chine blue line, orange contrast pinstriping, and this one is registered in CA. The first is now AZ & has less power too. Dunno how he flipped it..... That guy used to be on Insta with tons of pics, haven't seen any recent postings from him either.

Hull started as the updated DCB 26 bottom.
That updated bottom was a solid runner.

I wanna say 2017 or 2018. The first hull was at the LA boat show in January 2017 or 2018.
He is not asking about the Savage deck, he is asking when the was updated hull (bottom).
early 26’s had a serious hop to them, until DCB fixed the hull

What year is the update?
I want to say mid 2000’s. Ask Tony this weekend.
I did a delivery for Ultra in 2007. Owners buddy had a 26 he purchased without a water test (more money than brains), and the hop was insane.

28' ADRENALINE SAVAGE
I was just looking for this thread shortly ago today. I took this photo yesterday just to post in this thread because they look so similar.
This cobra looks very similar (better imo) to the savage and being built by a company with solid history for quality and performance as opposed to some guy who's building as a side hack or whatever.
