If you could stay a week at the river, where would you stay? I'm talking bang for the buck here. Anywhere from Mojave down to Parker. I'm thinking a house rental with at least a pool, versus a hotel room. Thoughts?

Definitaly a house with a hot tub and pool. I did that two years ago for Desert Storm and it was awesome to be able to chill in the hot tub and pool in the evening after being on the lake all day.

It would be somewhere on the water with a dock so I could come and go at will.

I think I would pick the Keys in Parker.

Do you plan on boating everyday? And is this a family trip or party trip? I would say a house in the keys for parker, room at nautical for havasu (someone cleans your room every day) or maybe something at the islander. Both keep you close to the water. When its not your house seems like you wouldn't want to haul the boat back and forth to a house in havasu. But the plus side is you can wipe the boat down every day if you'd like :thumbsup

If you really wanna get crazy how about staying at Havasu springs. You can do both parker and havasu and only be 15 mins ramp to ramp. And you can leave the boat in the water if you'd like

For me it would depend on a couple of things. Id do a house with a pool with a couple of other couples (no kids) and split the cost of the house for the week. If it was just the wife and kids and I could do it myself money wise id do the house or an islander park model. Hotels are nice only cause ur room gets cleaned everyday. Who really cares about that. If it was just me and the wife id prob do the nautical or london bridge cause there on the water. Then again if it was just me and the wife id prob still do a park model in the islander. prob mor spendy but way nicer then the nautical and u can walk to the turtle. Its not that far. Then again hobbleing back drunk could take forever :p

I'd probably hotel it, fuck doing things yourself when you are on vacation. I'd do harrahs in laughlin or the nautical in havasu. Having a pool is key for a week long trip if you have a day(s) when you dont feel like boatin and what better atmosphere to have than a pool bar! Lol

For parker i'd probably do the bluewater unless i could afford to rent a riverfront house. I like sitting in a chair and watching the river go by, not looking at the neighbors eating dinner in the house across the canal. I've even woke up in said chair in the lawn at sandbar resort :D

We did a house with a pool last year in Havasu for 8 days. Great way to go.... We have so done a week at London bridge (time share). Either way I would do again in a second.

In the Keys..of course I was spoiled my first time there by Stacy and Dave's hospitality and the friendship of all of the folks in the gang there.
We dream about going back, and it is gonna happen one of these days.

I like all these ideas and have been throwing this around in my head. If we go 7 days, we won't boat everyday. This is why I'm thinking a house with a pool. Plus the privacy there would be cool. We could cook and bbq our meals. Maybe go out once or twice. Parker would be cool in the Keys. We could jump in and out of the boat whenever. Islander would be cool cuz it's so close to the water. Never stayed there. Nautical I think would be too spendy. I'm thinking I like the $500-$700 range for a week that I am seeing for a house rental (in Havi at least). I think I would roll with a Sat. and Sun. and 5 days midweek to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Done the Laughlin thing a bunch of times. That used to be our old stomping grounds. Also done the Bluewater thing.

I'm staying in a condo in Havasu for the week of the 4th. It has a pool and spa and a great location close to everything. I thought about renting a Islander Park Rental for that week but the Holiday weekend rates are pricey and they require the full amount up front. I had to do that with Memorial as Im renting a spot there. I would have liked to do a nice house with a pool, but finding someone that can get the entire week off and split costs is kind of hard.

I wouldn't hotel it unless I was staying somewhere with a kitchen like Kathrine's Landing. I want to be able to cook my own food. I have no problem eating out all the time if it's just a weekend, but a solid week of having to eat out would get pricey. That and I love to BBQ. Katherines is also cool because you get a slip.

If you have kids and want them to be able to play in the sand/water all day then renting an RV or 5th wheel for Park Moabi could be nice.

My 1st choice for a week would be a House Boat trip, but every time I set one up someone flakes when the trip gets close and I get fucked on the deposit and wasted time coordinating everything.

The only thing lately that has been turning me off to Parker is the rough water in recent years. I know mid week will be fine.

I did the keys one year several years ago, it was pretty cool. I've stayed in my timeshare at havasu for many years. I like it, sometimes I'll get a slip at the marina to spoil myself.

Every year we spend 10 days at Park Moabi on a peninsula in our RV's. One of the best vacations.

Also stay at The Islander through out summer.

Would love to do a peninsula site. Not having an RV makes that a lil tough. :D

I just spent 12 days in Havasu in a house (mine) we put the boat in a slip at the Marina. It was nice to hang out in the crowd if you wanted to or sit in the backyard and watch the sunset.

Saw your ad for your rental. Place looks nice too. I'd have to have a place with a pool for those off days that we don't hit the lake.

Parker for sure.

We are kind of partial to the sandbar resort. Jason and his family are great people and a few from here set up camp there durning the summer. good view, nice stretch of the river, bars are close lol.

If I was going to have a bunch of people I would rent in the keys.

I always like to stay at JT's in the Keys. Rooms are small and nothing special and no pool though. They have a dock for ya though. Can walk accross the street and get Ice etc at Circle K and there is a small grocery store you can walk to also. They have BbQ's for use. A house in the Keyes would be a good choice also.

You know all about Mohave so nothing to add to that except maybe onsider the hotel at Cottonwood. No pool but they have the swimming area with a platform in the middle. Resv normally are needed way in Advance though

I'd say to rent a house or a condo in Havasu with a pool. You can day trip down to Parker without too much trouble. After a few days the kids will be bored of swimming around and want some other activities to do.

Over the years going to Havi, we've gradually moved up from the Holiday Inn, Queens Bay, Kings View, etc. to the house/pool dealio...best bang for the buck, especially in Jul-Aug.

We trailer home daily to prep the boat for the next day's activities. One day Windsor, another out of Cat-Tail, maybe a run up to Jack Smith...

There are some cool pads w/docks at Martinez...still want to do that trip some day.

Would like to do Cottonwood just because I'd like to boat that side of the lake. Not for a week though. My ass ain't drivin' in to Laughlin for nightlife. :D

These two sound about right. We can boat from different places each day. Stuff to do day or night.

Would like to try Martinez someday. Not for a full week at first.

I would try and score a house in havasu with a couple rooms and a pool.

maybe someone will cut you a week long deal?

I think the keys is gonna cost you more than you want to spend.
