The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Wednesday it will ban Red No. 3, a common artificial food dye linked to cancer.

The dye, which the FDA banned for cosmetics and topical drugs in 1990 after it was found to promote tumor growth in rats, is widely used in hundreds of products ranging from candies to ADHD medications. The move precedes the Senate’s decision on confirming Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an opponent of food dyes, as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

It’s almost as if they WANT you to get cancer. Nah, that can’t be. 🤣

Every bit helps. If they're scared and do it, great. If Kennedy comes in and hammers them, I'm ok with that too!

I didn't find the red cherries candy until I was 50. I should be ok. 😉

Personally, I'd prefer he hammers them anyway and they absolutely deserve it, they created the requirement when they KNOWINGLY banned it in cosmetics but NOT FOOD. How many people have suffered and died unnecessarily?

They wanted to get that one in before Trump and RFK get in so they can take the credit. Could have been done years ago, now that administration is trying to do others ideas in the last hours.

OMG , no more red M & M’s the absolute horror. Does this really require any debate?
Just ban the shit and move on, no one’s life will be adversely impacted.

We were sitting around a fire table at a hotel and some exchange students were there from the Netherlands.

My wife asked what they missed from back home. They said easy access to just plain foods. She remarked 1/2 the food in your mini marts have ingredients that are banned substances in the Netherlands. Makes you think.
