You have to remember gas and oil are Private companies, they will and can charge as much as a consumer can take, congress still gives the oil companies subsidies that would be one way the government/Congress could help reduce the pain of pain at the pump,call your your representative in the house and the senate. But the majority people when the gas gets very high they just stop driving and find other way to travel to the store.

I worked at a gas station when I was a kid whenever there was a chance of an increase we took the increase and doubled it for as long as we could….

I hate to say it but it will effect my lifestyle. 1200 miles per month to havasu will be roughly 800 bucks. Its not a budget thing, its more a 'why?'
The beach is 4 miles.
