So I have 8, 6.5's and two 12 inch subs. I have a Rockford Fosgate T-600 4 Amp right now and am wandering if I should buy another and run the 6.5's in 2 ohm and bridge the subs.
Or should I add a P.D.X V-9 and run the 6.5's in 4 ohm and run the Two 12's off the 500 watt one channel. Will the PDX run the 12's OK? They are the pioneer shallow mount type. I believe they are 300 or 400 watts each. right now I have them bridged on the T-600 and they are hitting really hard. and that's 300 watts..??? Would like to do this with just two amps if possible.. Thanks guys!!!!! I'm ready to buy!!!

Specs on subs would be nice. Dual voice coil? Rms rating? Can you run them at 2ohm or are they limited to 4/8 ohm?

They are 4 ohm! Right now I'm running all 4ohm speakers at 2 ohm off my T-600 with half gain. I have an Alpine PDX 600 running my one 12!! I want everything running 4 ohm which means a five channel amp is most likely in my future.. It will run 4 speakers 6.5's and my other 12in sub!! And the T-600 will run the other 4... All 4ohm.
Any suggestions!! Alpine PDX V-9???

i am running 4-6.5" speakers and 4-6x9 speakers off a kicker 600x4
also have 2-12" rockford fosgate P1 subs off a 500x1 amp.
sounds good to me and never over heats (knock on wood)
i have 2-2150 odyssey batteries and can run it non stop for 6 hours and still start the boat.
havent tried to run it any longer. i have no head unit just a small eq that it all plugs into and
my ipod or iphone plug into that.

I'm missing something, is there only the one amp?

How about running the RF @ 2ohms, so 150*2 or 75 watt RMS / speaker (mids). Plenty of CLEAN power to those 6.5's (didn't say what "those" are).

I wouldn't think the shallows wouldn't take much power to make 'em move. I'd pick up a small amp for your subs and be done (these have been turning up with a cult following for any use... hell get few for your mids alone: http://www.vminnovations.com/Product_48618/PowerBass-XAX-2160FD-2-Channel-640W-Amplifier.html ) A safe bet amp, the alpine m500, can be had for less than $150 and will do the deed.

There are tons of other options, but this will give to good clean sound for CHEAP. One sub amp and be done.
