The most I ever paid for gas. We I headed to Carmel from Prescott. We were on the 40 leaving AZ and never gave gas stops a question. We got scary low on fuel and stopped at what I thought was the last gas stop for 90 miles. At least that’s what a sign said, kinda makes me wonder who put the sign there. We fuel up , grab a bag of ice, another 10 dollars for a freaking bag of ice. Anyway I’m at rest knowing I got fuel. So we exit to the highway, drive maybe 30-40 miles and bang a gas station with some what reasonable price. The station was in some what of an oasis, don’t remember the name of the area. Lesson learned!😎

I wonder if the "gasbuddy" app would have worked out there.

If you use the app, go into settings and turn off all the tracking BS.
I was going to say the same…anytime we’re on an extended road trip..we always have the GasBuddy app going.

The only time I really plan gas stops is when towing. I hate going to gas stations with the trailer, so usually plan to get it at truck stops or while I am unhooked near camp.

Same here…I installed a Titan 52 gallon tank on our 05 Dodge CTD to help this issue. Been great so far. Usually now it’s the wife’s bladder that creates a reason to stop. lol 😂

Google maps, just search "gas". Usually pretty up to date on prices. Your stop sounds just like Needles

I pulled into Chiriaco to fill up when I was towing my new trailer out to Parker....wasn't sure if 1/2 a tank would make it....picked a pump island with plenty of room to pull out and make a nice wide turn back to the "main road" with a 38' trailer behind me....right as the pump click off a tanker truck pulled in and parked 20' in front of me....lol. I wasn't towing with a Dodge so I didn't have tow mirrors that stick out 2 feet on each side. Was fun getting outta there.

I usually top off at Dillon road with the 5th wheel if I'm going rice road. If through Ehrenberg I top off there. I can make it in 1 tank, but my light comes on entering town.

We’re on a road trip from San Clemente to Michigan, filled up in Joplin, Missouri yesterday $2.68 a gallon for reg. I felt like they were giving gas away, plus I kinda like the company’s name!

We drove from Redlands to Unadiila NY last June for a vintage motocross race. Old Toyota Highlander pulling a small enclosed U-Haul. Somewhere early into Wyoming I passed a sign that said next town was 129 miles. I had just over half a tank and make a bet that "next town" doesn't equal "next gas". Found out her (my wife) Highlander guage doesn't really mean what it says.
Ended up using some VP 110 from the trailer to get us all the way there. That hurt.

I’m kinda more concerned about u guys traveling across the 40 in the middle of summer with not knowing where to stop. rather then the gas prices…

Exactly. Same here. That is also why I have an external 100g tank to go with the 50g tank on the truck.

How long before CA. carb bans those external tanks? They can be losing a lot of money.
There is a lot of emission control on the fuel system.

When I go to the river I have two extra 12 gal marine tanks in my toolbox. Diesel is at least a buck to a buck fifty cheaper in Parker and its actually diesel instead of palm oil and animal fat we get here in so cal.

I watched an interesting video on early 70's drag racing. Somewhere in it they mention that nitro methane is actually a waste product from another process.
Who knew?

That labeling inspires confidence in the actual octane level and the non-ethanol claim….

You know you can go to the airport and get real 100ll for $2 dollars less a gallon right?
Yeah. I was going to but didn’t want to drive out there.

It’s all good. People swear by Parker oil. Say it’s good shit but the facilities arent great

I like them too, in Parker it was the only place I would buy gas, until now. I have fiberglass tanks in our 21 so zero tolerance for any ethanol.
