Ever had hasenpfeffer?

I must say no, a rose by any other name just isn't the same.

I admit, had to look it up. :)

I've had me some stew, but hasenpfeffer just rolls off so much nicer.

They adapt real well in the wild with three feet. By all accounts, this one is doing well [emoji106]

With all due respects to the rabbit, it is one of the good two.

Duly Noted.

I had a guy that "was" a customer do a bunch of work to it. He is an independent forklift mechanic. He also has built cars, one was on the cover of Hot Rod. I gave him a chance, simply because, as a small business owner, many people gave me a chance when we were starting out. Unfortunately, he fucked the body so badly, it was beyond reasonably fixable. He welded panels on really hot. the car got badly warped and I had to find another car. Took me till Friday last week.

I am having a totally legit Rod shop do it this time.

The old chassis may or may not be usable. He had narrowed it for a mini-tub. I'll know for sure, next week. If not, we'll just transfer all the suspension/brakes and rear-end over to this frame and narrow it. (for 345's)
Damm that sucks. Hope it gets back on track soon.

Well, for the rabbit it sucked. :eek but for me, I have a new buildable Chevelle.

Nice.

Kinda like ham and eggs for breakfast. For the chicken it is a minor involvement, but for the pig it is a pretty big commitment.

I remember a thread...:hmm

Not one of my proudest moments.
It is cool to see the boat getting another good home.
Can't wait to see the new family photos and fun.:thumbsup

Got over to the Hot Rod shop this morning. We reached an analysis that the damage done in boxing and narrowing the chassis on car 1, was too severe. We will abandon car 1 completely. All the suspension components, brakes, rear end will all be transferred to car 2. The boxing and narrowing on car 2 will commence next week.

Does anyone make a frame that does what you want it to do, verses taking a stock frame and reworking?

Yes. Art Morrison build chassis that do exactly what I want. Problem is, all the components I have, Brakes, Moser rear-end, Ride tech/air ride suspension don't convert over. I would have 5K in parts that I cant use. Boxing and narrowing is not a huge deal, done by competent people.

Not to mention Morrison Chassis are BIG bucks. I have a couple of customers running them. Beautiful pieces of work. :thumbsup

I could use all those parts on my 70 El Camino for you.

Yea, we're on the right trajectory now. The shop is legit and they just moved it inside. Should be pretty consistent progress.

Need to get the engine in it soon, it keeps getting "Teabagged" where it is now.

Any updates?

Almost three years later....

As Hot Rod shops go, I took the "second" donor car to a shop. (doesn't matter) They took it pretty far and the progress stopped, I had to pull it and take it to yet a third shop. This dude is legit. NO ADVERTISING, NO WEBSITE, referrals only. Car is 100% percent complete, just waiting on the interior guy. Car has seats, is drive-able.

The car has 900 HP and 800 ft# torque and pulls so hard it is frightening. All the parts are designed around that power and should hold up...sorta. :D

Aeromotive fuel cell in trunk. Tank on left is inter-cooler storage tank (6.5 gallons)

Bucket list...another one down.

What are the two fans underneath in front of the gas tank for? bad ass car!

That is the heat exchange for the inter-cooler. Really nowhere else to put it. Had to run lines back to the truck for the storage tank anyway. The coolant volume was calculated at minimal heat soak HP loss. That's a tough calc. based on so many variables.

That's just so bad ass!
Around 1980 I picked up a 67SS that was a "in progress" state and never really got it to the level you took this one to. Congrats.
