OK, $600 a year, but that's what you have to pay as of May 3rd to use any of their facilities  They're going private, so they say. Is it me or is this questionable? You have a marina on public land and the company running it says we're not going to let everyone use the only facilities currently available on the lake unless they pay for a membership

Yup, those concessionaire contracts are a biatch, especially if they extend to 2112 like they do at the Havasu marina:swear:swear

Was up there yesterday and the only thing I can think of is that they are trying to appease the current members and prevent them from jumping ship (no pun intended) over to Scorpion Bay. Scorpion Bay, and correct me if I am wrong, is going for less of a party atmosphere. Some of these older members at Pleasant Harbor are the ones that have all the lute and they don't want to lose them to a quieter and newer Marina.

So I think they are trying to keep the riff raff like Jordy and Big Warlock out.....:point

That's funny, because the guy we talked to said they had their fill of flat-billed tattoo biker looking troublemakers in refuge boats. :point:beer

$600 is a lot to pay to drop my Sunday morning Duece....I guess yesterday was my last time:mad:

I feel for all of my friends that use the pumpout facilities there...guess we're gonna have to start discharging overboard (time to install that 3 way valve):D

Lol, I was actually up there on the bike yesterday too......

The refuge boat is probably gonna get a break for a month or so, as Mike Jones was in Canada and thought he was a pro snowboarder......

Broken back and bruised kidney.

Well after making a bunch of calls I did find out that the marina is on the only 200 acres at the lake that is privately owned. It's owned by the Maricopa County Water District. I always thought this was a government agency, but it's not, it's private hence they can do what they want I guess. Still sucks, I'll be curious to see how things go once Scorpian Bay is open later this year.
