Wondering the refresh time on these. 4 strokes have alot of moving parts and high rpms. 2 strokes can go for a long time. Less moving parts and all roller bearings.

Basically, you are getting 50 more HP for $15-20K? I guess I'm just a bit jealous that I couldn't justify that unless I had small bank FU money.

It'd be interesting to see what a 25 Daytona would run with a single 500R O/B vs an HP 500 I/O. I know eliminator built a new single O/B cat, can't remember if it was a 25. But what that ran vs having this new 500R on it.

Not sure about the modern day Speedster but my old 26' Mach's and F's needed at a minimum 600-650 of I/O HP to get to 100...

Same boat with a Merc 565, low 90’s

Nobody is bragging about top speeds with 500. Wonder if extra drag from heavier parts and bigger case is taking most that 50 horsepower.

1 - 500r vs 2 - 300r would be interesting to see on a 26’ cat.
I have the rough estimate to upgrade to twin 300’s on my 26ShadowDeck. But the wife dislikes the twin idea.
So now I am wondering if a single 500 could be the upgrade ticket
