You’d think it would be a bigger story on a boating website 😂😂

Daughter and AJ are out at the premier. Black tie affair.

Just watched a promo vid from Mercury and it looks like most of it was filmed on Havasu with a CC and a couple of different cats (Mystic and MTI). Some cool new tech on the 500R.

Tommy Gun was doing the stills for that shoot, he just posted them on his Instagram.
I wonder if they were using 450 hoods until they got out on the lake away from people?

I just don't get the weight diff between the 300r and 500r...it seems the 500r is even heavier than the 450.... Also, interesting the 450 no longer shows on their website.

Bigger gear case, supercharger, etc. this thing it for pushing big heavy boats, it’s gotta last through that warranty period :)

I wonder what their limit will be for that block?
I guess it would have to stay under 600?
And if that’s the case, when do they start boosting the 600…?

I think the engine block is probably the least of their concerns. The vertical shaft, lower gears, and prop shop are definitely the challenge.

And then how do you keep the nose cone /bullet from going too big. Therefore, sacrificing power and adding transom lift. Definitely a challenge. We’ll see how they hold up.

I have been dealing with somethings behind the scenes over here.. I mentioned a couple of them to you today.

That said it has been pretty public that this was coming for awhile now.

I am interested in the crescent shaped gear case and the fin on the front of it and a few other things..

From what I gather it’s basically a 450 boosted more and they added a humidity sensor to make sure it retains 500hp via boost control in any environment.

Here’s some pics I grabbed from tommygun and a few other people that were there.

I was kinda surprised not to see DCB on the test line up?

Add shift actuators, flywheels, etc. I carried around $30K in spare parts to keep my 450’s going and not have to leave vacation early. AJ suggested I just buy an extra Powerhead as well.🤣

Wait a second. What about all that talk about outboards being problem free?! 🤪

I hope it has a 1 1/2” prop shaft. Otherwise the bottom of the lake will be littered with even more beautiful, expensive, shiny, stainless for the carp to stare at.
treasure hunters like me get excited over this:p
