496 HO Alarm

Had it pinned through some semi rough water today. A solid alarm beep came on. All the gauges were fine, came off the throttle and the alarm stopped. First time hearing this alarm.

Was that the rev limiter alarm......... or the slow down tough guy and turn off ABBA alarm.......

Maybe gear oil / trim levels low when moving??

Second outting after a full service, resevoir was full on Fri. I will be checking that first thing. Thanks...:thumbsup

Happend to me... no service yet, but last time out buzzed... trim was low. I only have 15 hours. Topped her off and good to go. Few more hours 'til the big 20

I have to agree, first ck fluids. How many rpm's were you running (just curious about the rev limmiter, you would have to have been over 5200rpm). If boat was not overheating and problem persists intermitantly, it could be heat exchange gasket(s).

Its possible that you got something stuck across your intakes...happened to me, had a plastic bag get across the intakes.

When I got my boat (used) I had the alarm going on all the time I hit the gas. After replacing all my sensors, reprogramming my computer and them wanting to sell me a new prop, 6 months and 10 visits to Teague (only because it was warranty), it turned out to be my fuel pump when it crapped out in the middle of Thompson Bay at Havasu.

Check your fuel pressure.

Is the alarm a solid alarm or intermittent? Also, does is shut you down the partial power or idle? If so it is going into "guardian" mode. I had this happen and it was my sensor in my water pump unit.
