Just think, if the San Andreas Fault goes, we could lose I10, I15 and I5. It would be more than just the roadway, a whole bunch of bridges are going to fall down. Probably not in my lifetime though, but something to think about.
I have 17yrs left until I retire, hope the San Andreas holds another 18yrs

Havasu to Rancho Cucamonga in about 4 hours this morning. East bound was moving good too.

My Havasu neighbor reported 12 hour drive Corona to Havasu Friday night. They rolled in about 3am Saturday morning. Brutal!
That’s good to hear. My wife and daughter left Cucamonga at about six this morning and went out the 10 just to be safe. They’ll probably be heading home sometime this evening so I’ll let her know the 40 is probably good to go.

The 15 is a major economic artery. These past few days have probably had a pretty large impact. 4 or 5 well placed and loaded semis could wreck the economy pretty quick. Lithium fires burn a long time, are difficult to extinguish and burn hot enough to cause damage to concrete and rebar. 5, 15, 10, and 8...all have fairly remote choke points. We've seen it with flood damage, or wrecks, I'm sure others have noticed as well.

Let us know how the 10 was. I assume good but the wife is traveling from ONT to LHC on the 10 tomorrow and I want to be sure. She is a bit concerned with being alone. She rather do the 15/40 route but sounds like that is questionable at this time. 👍

I've known people in the "threat assessment" business. Really a weird gig, think like a "badguy". They'd be given standard, readily available intel, and be told to formulate different scenarios. The object was to use their findings and thoughts to help strengthen weak points withing infrastructure.

We have an unknown number of foreign nationals driving commercial vehicles with fake or very questionable credentials. This was made very apparent 12+ years ago, with the tanker fire in the I5 truck bypass tunnel. A few rigs caught up in there were unclaimed, drivers disappeared. About the same time, I believe the 710/91 interchange was closed due to another tanker fire.

When the Longshoremen go on strike, the economy takes a big hit. The supply chain issues cause exponential damage far from the ports themselves. If the supply chain gets cut off elsewhere, the same damage could be done, but the repairs could take much longer.

Left at 10:30 AM and got to Bullhead at 2:40PM with one stop. It was smooth sailing. Not so much for the west side.

How easy would it be to completely fuck LA with multiple semi "accidents" like this on a few more arteries?
It's easier than you think, a little bit of "broke down truck fire thing" and throw in a " little hazmat" on the major arteries, and a small "Electrical Grid issue" could F*ck the west coast in a huge way. But I don't know shit, I'm just a guy in a truck.

Me and five guys could fuck the west coast for about a week, and with a little help it could be worse.
