This is a portable cart that has a big monitor on top of the pole. When the cart is being moved around, the monitor bounces around too much and the customer asked us to come up with a solution. So the handrail for the cart seems to be very sturdy and I used it as a base. The clamp is easily removable without any tools.

Pretty cool, 3D printers are such a rad tool. Did you think about if someone was to over tighten it and it breaks? Does it come with a warning or instructions?

Yes, I had a meeting with the maintenance guy who’s in charge of taking care of these carts and showed him how tight to crank it, hence the really small knobs. I doubled the standard wall thickness on this job for extra strength and put radiuses and gussets everywhere I could.

Creality 500mm cubed or about 20” cubed. You can still see the support structure on the table from the radius’s that go around the handle and the pole of the cart.

Some printing pics. This was an earlier version print that bolted onto the cart instead of hinge bolts and knobs to make it removable without tools. The customer requested that it be put on and off the cart without tools.

Nicely done. From the print quality I had assumed you were using some industrial quality printer. I see a lot of 3d printed stuff for sale online and it looks like junk but this came out really nice.

Pretty damn cool!

I have been surprised at how tough the PLA material is. I have printed a handfull of little brackets and do-dads for my RZR that I figured would be temporary until I could fab something up in metal. After a year they are still holding up just fine so they are now permanent.

Awesome print. Starting my own project where I need to clamp around a 2" pole and was wondering what the clamping knob setup you used is called.

Carr Lane fasteners has all kinds of these knobs. Carrlane.com. They are called eyebolts.
