350 Chevy in a 32 Ford šŸ‘Ž

Glass body šŸ‘Ž

Looks neat but I couldnā€™t live with those two things in a 32 Ford.

Iā€™d wager there are more chevys in ā€˜32s than there were ā€˜32s originally produced.

This is strictly for some fun, go rip around for a summer and move on. Not a show car.

ā€¦ Pretty much what I was told by a friend of mine who used to buy and sell a lot of speed parts on eBayā€¦ The hawkers wait till the last 30 seconds or something and then bid a dollar or a penny over the last bidā€¦ probably why I never tried to buy anything off of eBayšŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

I hated that about eBay.

Cool part about BaT is that if a bid is made in the last 2 mins, it extends the auction by another 2 minutes. Keeps be bid sniping at bay.

Meh.
I suppose to more purists.
To the average guy, it would be a fairly afFordable toy. With the easy parts finding of the Chevy. Perfect for summer night cruising fun. 3 pedals is just extra funšŸ‘
Maybe upgrade this or that and dump it in a few years when a new itch sparks.

If I were getting it Iā€™d probably call Dave Barr or call Maurcie and try and talk him out of retirement for an afternoon and lay down some custom stripes, retro style of course.

Fill er up and have fun.

ā€¦ I suppose I kind of blew it sometime agoā€¦ A high boy 32 came up for sale in the neighborhoodā€¦ Fiberglassā€¦ Chrome, jag rear end ā€¦nice tan upholsteryā€¦ Small block Chevyā€¦ It belonged to a couple who maybe were in their early 60s ..they were getting a divorce and it sounds to me like the wife got pissed off and poured water in the carburetor and ruined the motor ā€¦
ā€¦They wanted 10 grand for itā€¦ Which at the time I thought was too highā€¦ I had .an LS seven big block that I might have been able to stuff into itā€¦

I'd keep an eye on that and see where the bidding goes, thats a killer car.

It will exceed what I want to spend on a '32. But yeah, thats a great ride. Really dig the sprint car steering, and the Hemi, wow. It would be over the top if it had a third pedal.

lol. I'm not sure I'm going to go after it. Seller is a little quiet.

The big spring Mecum auction is in my backyard in May, I bet there will be multiple '32s coming across the block.
Mecum has big fees compared to BAT

Thereā€™s obviously a reserve on that auction and Iā€™m not in the market for a deuce at all, but itā€™s fun to put a bid in when itā€™s super low like that lol

Beautiful ride, tons of money in that build. I'm a bit confused as to a traditional looking build though, with a straight axle up front, and a modern IRS out back. To me, I'm so used to buggy springs, IFS feels different in a hot rod...I've own a 39 with both IFS and IRS...but never had just IRS.

Iā€™d rather see a quick change in the rear of that car. Agree on the IRS, not really a ā€œfitā€ to the build theme.

Yeah, I figured that. I believe they charge the seller, too. The ticket to get in the show/auction is also a little steep... They have a big production to pay for lol.

But, I save on shipping. The first car I posted would be almost $3,000 to ship to where I live...

How this car doesnā€™t have more bids yet is crazy to me.
ā€¦ There might be a little bit of irony in this. If you ended up being the high bidā€¦ Do you have a credit card that would cover itšŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļøā€¦ if you shouldnā€™t want it, Iā€™ll take itā€¦

They put a pending charge for their cut the second I bid on it.

If for some reason it got no more bids, thereā€™s no way Iā€™d own that car. Thereā€™s a reserve on it and when BaT asks for my best and final, itā€™ll just be for my high bid amount which of course wouldnā€™t be accepted. If it was itā€™d be a bigger score than the Roadrunner and Iā€™d have to get a lift for the garage. šŸ˜‚

ā€¦ I wonder what it would cost to have made an upholstery color, matched canvas convertible, topā€¦ My guess would be the manufacturer of the glass body may also sell thoseā€¦šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

Rod tops makes them, but I think youā€™d have to modify the windshield as well.

I got outbid.. shame. Iā€™ll still watch it though. lol.

ā€¦ the outbid was it inevitable I supposeā€¦ Iā€™m just started looking at how bring a trailer worksā€¦ interestingšŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

ā€¦In looking at the windshield frameā€¦ that is on the carā€¦ there appears to be a post at each outer endā€¦ Which I would assume are for a top frame to sit down onā€¦ I actually really like the carā€¦ the way it looks the way it sitsā€¦the wheels etcā€¦ the Ford rear end does not bother me at allā€¦ I probably would go for it if I could get it delivered to my front yard in North Hollywoodā€¦ for $20Kā€¦but I think we both know that not going to happenā€¦ I was going to register to bidā€¦ until it got down to where they wanted a credit card numberā€¦hmmm???ā€¦ wouldnā€™t do that unless I was seriously interested in somethingā€¦

They take the credit card to ensure they get their 5%, which they take immediately when you win the auction. When I bid the 12k on this ford, there was an immediate pending charge for 600 from them.

Iā€™d figure 4k to get it from FL to CA in an enclosed. I paid 2200 for enclosed from north WA to Havasu.

I haven't looked close, it needs to have the posts installed at where the B or C-pillar would be for the rear of the top to attach to as well.

Edit: It is definitely set up for a top, wonder if it comes with it. It's a little different than mine.

ā€¦ it looks like shipping prices have increased since the last time I looked 20 years agošŸ˜³ā€¦ although I was pricing from Georgia to Northern California for a 21 foot day cruiseršŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļøā€¦

I just did Enclos3d Car Transport from Atlanta Georgia to Havasu in December and it was $2,300 using Reliable Transportation.

Reserve not met. Seller was MIA; I dont think they have any useful info on the car.

There are only 2-3 dealers that sell on BaT that are solid and respected. The rest are shady, used-car-lot type guys.

I am a VERY picky 32 guy. Straight and flat windshield kills the look for me. This top and curved / chopped windshield is the only way to go , waited a year for top and glass the guy is old so patience is a blessing . Also notice how I did the hood louvers leaving space for some bad ass tooled leather straps. Collected parts for 6 years and will order the 5 speed and winters nostalgia bell quickchange in the next couple weeks. I also put a serious notch in frame for all the low I want.

I donā€™t get the comments about the seller not being engaged or being MIAā€¦? It looks like he replied to all questions and was very transparent about any flaws on the car unless Iā€™m missing something..? I understand that he doesnā€™t have the history on the car since he bought it at auction, but still honest about it.

Who makes that frame and body?
Body is a Brookville , chassis is some dude from LA that comes up to portland swap meet every year with about 6 chassis and all parts to go on them. The stamped rails are only produced by amarican stamping and EVERYONE buys them and finishes out the chassis.

I was after a gangster look but that white and dark saddle gets me jackedšŸ‘
When I saw the pics, the white one definitely stood out to me. That ā€œdark saddleā€ color on the top and rims, really stands out and looks great on the white.

The orange with the black top and wheels looks good as well.
But that white... šŸ‘šŸ»

Thatā€™s so awesome. I was looking at a factory five kit, but someday Iā€™d like to do an *actual* more true deuce. I just donā€™t have any fab skillz so I need something I can more or less bolt together.

Those renderings of yours have got to be the best looking 32ā€™s Iā€™ve seen. My goodness.

You're 6ft-huge...the trouble with a deuce would be the top if you run one. The doors are small, so getting in with a lid is not fun for me, and I'm only 5'11" in boots, on a good day. A stock "buggy" top maybe, but the ones that look good aren't as tall guy friendly.

I forget who, but somebody makes a 32 roadster body with the doors and cockpit stretched 4 inches. Anyone else remember this?
