That DW will out run that Nordic as bad as it may be, the DW being 4 ft longer still a faster hull. IMO. But that Nordic is bad ass!!

2 VERY different boats. The Nordic is beyond badass, inside & out. I believe the DW will see some big water and possibly even some, dare I say it, salt water. Ooooo my goodness, people actually do use their boats in salt water.:D:rolleyes::cool:

I have spent hours in the 32DW and I can tell you it chews up the rough water and very easy to drive. It is a big boat and wide. Not sure but I think it is about 10ft wide. The DW is all business inside with little frills. I have never been in the Nordic???

Congrats on getting your DW. You are going to love it...in fact I would say that you won't want any other boat once you drive your DW. Pound for pound the best all around outboard boat on the planet. I see you have a turning fin on the back and swept bottom nice. Enjoy :)

Where is there a turning fin? I looked back and zoomed in on just about any picture of the rear and didnt notice one?

BB,

congratulations, beautiful!

Hope you get to fly her in the Pacific Ocean, then you'll really see her shine :)

I know you will eventually do this....but I can't wait to see videos of your 32 running!

Huh..... I don't think I would call that a fin since it doesn't protroud past the bottom of the boat but I see how it would help and function.

Nice job Noli...thank you for replying. Some DW's have them some don't! I am on the fence about whether to have one or not. However, with the heavy 400R's I think I would have it if anything to keep that azz end from sliding to much. He also has the new bottom changes since mine was built.

I've talked with Bully while he rode in my 308 Skater about how a 32 DW handles bigger water. I've never ridden in a 32 DW but I know Bully has since on Havasu. How does a 32 DW do versus a 308 Skater in big water? I dont care AT ALL about top end, just real world 300XS in big water.

I'd also include the Skater 318 in this comparison. The 318 is a widebody tunnel by 10 inches I believe

This question is a moot point because we all know the answer...Doug Wright is the KING in the outboard world. In any event here is my reply...you and I have talked and hopefully you get to roll with me or Paul one day and then you will be a convert...LOL.

Well I have driven both a 308 Skater and 32 DW not even close. Take a look at all the SBI National and World Championships one name stands alone...Doug Wright. In fact the SBI rules in stock class use the DW hull as the benchmark of what is legal and what is not.

Talk to anyone that races in stock class and they will tell you 32 DW is the champ. I recently spoke to Scott Porte [Pappas Pilar, Shadow Pirate] and asked him his opinion on what was better the 32 DW or the 36DW and he said hands down the 32 DW hull has no equal.

Recently, at LOTO 318 Skater 400ROS boat and 400R 32 DW. Jimmy Johns owns both and came away with the 32 DW as the keeper due to ride and overall acceleration, top speed and ride quality. For sale on the 318 so that says a lot. Plus, several people who drove both said no comparison.

Look in the outboard world the DW has not equal. Take your pick the 28 DW aka Fatcat is one bad azz boat, the 32DW has won more championships than any other hull for the last two decades. Lastly, the 34/36 Wright Performance is also a beast [yes I have driven it] it turns and accelerates better than any boat in it's class...plus can handle monster water with ease.

As you know I own a 300XS powered DW and it can handle some of the snottiest water around. From Gulf of Mexico to Pacific Ocean. I think the 300XS is a better power choice than a 400R for rough water lighter engines and they can handle the beating. I am not so confident a 400R at 688lbs each on the back end is going to do as well in nasty Pacific ocean water.

I have broken seat bases, jack plates CMC Stainless, mid-section engine mounts and a host of other parts and still kept going. The ride in the DW is soft and very forgiving. Ask anyone who has ridden in one with me and they will agree. Plus nothing in Havasu is even remotely close to being rough...ask Carter Bahde who rode with us at LOTO during Shootout goings and comings... he will laugh at what Havasu people think is rough.

I have had to hash this discussion out so many times over the last 6 years and people still don't get it...Oh well!

Kap, thanks for your insight on both and I did sincerely appreciate your time on the phone a few years ago before I bought my 308. I just couldn't swing a new 32 DW financially. I've ridden in the 28 DW with 300XS power and nothing with 300s accelerates like that 28. We didnt see any big water that day so I cant compare the DW 28 vs Skater 28 but the DW is faster on the top & acceleration for sure.
I absolutely 100% agree about how beyond laughable it is when Havasu peeps talk about rough. Ya its LAKE rough, not Bay or big blue rough.

With these type of boats like the Skater and DW they just drive over the crap water with ease. You are not

After riding in the DW 32 I agree it is very forgiving and easy to drive at speed. I am amazed how quick it is for only having 800HP on the back. A single engine blown 26 Elimator tried to keep with us and we just walked away from him at 70mph. Not sure what he had under the hood except for the blower.

So BB why this and the 28ss. This will be slower. I guess I am curious as why two similar boats?
Why do you have a ball peen hammer, claw hammer, 5 pound sledge hammer, and a 20 pound sledge hammer ?

All of them have their specific purpose.

And as far as speed it will be interesting to see how they compare. Especially since they weigh the same.

John, let’s not forget that my Nordic is the WORLDS fastest STOCK twin 400 outboard boat. DW has some large foot steps to follow into.

I'm fairly certain he will attempt that. What's the fastest pleasure 32 DW 400R now ?

Guys the from the mold section is literally just to watch builds come together, not to jibber jabber about boats and which one is best or isn't. If you want to talk about all that please take it to the lounge. Other than "nice build" or a specific question about the build process to the mfg that's about it.

The Nordic is not even in the same category as a DW...

Not to go against my own advice, but I would like to stop this right here.. You said it best, they are in completely different categories of boats. There are things the DW is going to do better, and there are things the Nordic are going to do better.

Most importantly there's a reason why someone would own both.. Because they serve two different purposes.

looks like the area above the steering wheel is cut open till the flat area.

Will you be doing the same as you did with the 28 to gain space for the VesselView?

would be a great addition....again.

Since no ones asked yet that I’ve noticed, I’ll ask/comment.

Having met the Bullhead Bully guy a couple times, I don’t see Mr. W running around in an all white boat:D

When’s it getting painted and who’s going to do it?
I won’t ask what colors, I have a pretty good guess what they will be!

The dash pad will cover the top of the GPS. With only a slight raise needed over the GPS As far as colors I’m staying with a white base w/red silver and black graphics. Breaking away from my normal colors on this one.

What is the fuel capacity per tank? I have read there are different sizes in the 32s depending on customer requirements.
