So today I was at my storage unit and ran into the owner of this 1979 Challenger 30ft. He told me that is was his brothers and that he recently passed away and that he was the next of kin and that he’s trying to sell it. Got to talking to him and he was a super down to earth guy and allowed me to take a full look at this boat. Said it has twin 350 engines and that his brother was in the process of redoing the interior. It looks like he placed a new gas tank in the boat and it need to be finished . He said he found the title to it and is very motivated to get it gone.
He mentioned during our talks that only 3 of these hulls were built. The name Haas was the name everyone called his brother from what he said.
He gave me permission to post the pictures and a phone number if anyone is interested in buying it. His name is Brad. 805-448-1984

Honestly next to nothing, boat is in Boulder City and he lives in California. The unit cost quite a bit a month, I’m sure he would entertain any offer maybe 5k or less.

I was wonder what something like that would be worth. Looks pretty clean in some aspects. Being older with non-merc drives and a bit of a project. I’m guessing in the 5k range or less.

I haven't heard of that brand before. The purchase price could be offset by selling the drivetrains to someone who "Needs" them, but finding a buyer for those parts could be tricky. I hate to be "That guy," but I see this being a costly rehab/restoration regardless......

I'd say the ONLY motivation would be to help out the family or because the buyer just HAD to have this one particular hull.

Just my .02.

My in-laws had a '79 Challenger 19' jet, nice well built boat. As far as the Volvo 280's they would probably get bought pretty quickly at the right price.

If I remember right, there was a West coast and East coast Challenger, this boat doesn't appear to be the West coast company. I know the guy's name was Hass, but why does it say Hass Boats?

I thought that was weird too but the owner said on the title it said Challenger 30ft.
