What’s the story on them?

The future Mrs. Boozer is not fond of the idea of having a cat and a toon. The more we talk the more her opinion makes sense.

The Tahiti 23 Deck starts at $55K brand new. Hanging a 400 off the back should give me the power I need and tons of storage inside. I figure I’m in the $70K price range, it’s brand new and has a warranty.

What am I missing?

And although it has storage, it is not a large amount. But that outboard will make a big difference there. I have a 22 Shockwave and actually am very happy with the 350 horse I/O FWIW.

I love the idea of outboards though. Something you can abuse and they keep loving you. Just like dogs.

The base price is $60k. $55k was last summer, good deals with the 6.2mag ho.

The 300R I feel is the best option. We are rigging a 400R boat right now and an LSA/ Bravo 1 boat. Both are pricey

I like the 300R for 3 reasons:
V8 Torque and prop selection
Non-Mercury steering: We can use Uflex hydraulic
DTS plug and play with Simrad display is awesome.

Mercury did release a non-racing 400 verado in miami this week. Could be cool. Pricing is not out to us west coast OEMs yet.
Hope that helps- Todd @ Tahiti

I love the way my shockwave version runs (same bottom) with ‘just’ the 350. The whacker boats do look cool though!

Todd, thank you for all the info. I have a couple more questions.

What kind of power would I need to get into the 80’s? If I have to go I/O to get there how much storage am I going to lose? What is the turn around time on a new build from the time I sign the purchase order to delivery?

Thanks.

The 23 DECK 350 Verado did 78MPH with 3 dudes (Yuma Farmers and 2 dogs) , i got 73mph before the motor broke in.
Stock verado 350- atlas jackplate- SOLAS 25 4blade Vented prop i think.

To get to 80 I feel the 400R should do it. The 300R will be close, have to do one. HINT HINT

We are rigging an LSA (540HP - Bravo 1 ) which should be fast. I dont have pricing on that deal as we are figuring it out as we go.
Im not a huge fan of a BBC 8.2/8.1 in a 22 deckboat. Big motor for little boat, it loses the lightweight fun feeling.

Our 23 deck pricing is aggressive to compete with shockwave/ domn8er. We cant do it forever, but enjoy it while it lasts.

Its a smaller deckboat so storage kinda sucks. I dont have great pics to explain but with the IO- STB side is 2 batteries and a small open space, port side you have a larger box and a hatch ram.

Under the backseat has some storage, ski locker, under the dash is the biggest area. And under the bow seats we try to limit weight.

Obviously the outboard has huge advantages. Adding seating in the 23 is harder as the backseat is tooled into the mold. Hope these pics help.
