I'll ask him tomorrow. I honestly don't remember. We're grabbing some lunch up at Fremont.Same as my machines. What brand of machines does he run? Definitely nice to have him as a friend

Do you have to remove the seat bottom cushions to get the lid open ?
nope. Going to make a tapered filler cushion at the bottom of the hatch. It'll miss both ways, opening the lower seat base to get into that storage, or opening the hatch to get into the bilge. Johnny (aka hydroskreamin) stopped by earlier and put another set of eyes on it with me.Do you have to remove the seat bottom cushions to get the lid open ?
Ordered grab bars, a dual usb port, hinges and a catch for the glovebox, and a couple of small deck plates. I want to thru bolt the seat bases down, and I have no other option than to cut a hole under each front seat. I'll make some 3/16, or 1/4" plates and thread the holes for the seat bolts.
Wood screws just won't cut it here.
I've thought about what you're saying, but the seats are too high off the floor to do that. I'm building some coamings into the gunnels. Can you be position positive and small? My Howard had cup holders in the floor on each side of the front seats. May just be an idea if it’ll work. Plus if your a can tipper great place to keep a beer vs an exposed cup holder
Making up my interior lighting strips.
Bought a roll of red. Soldering some short wires to the terminals, blob of hot glue to cover the bare wire, then shrink tube. I'll throw the same metripac connectors on every one. Every wire in the boat will have this type of connector. View attachment 659614

It looks like there's solder exposed, but its buried in hot melt, and the adhesive from the shrink tube.
Stereo shop did this in my last boat and man were they bright. Where did you order the strip from? I think I want to do it myself this go around!

I bought a bunch of rolls off flea bay. They're 9.99 for 5 meters. The clear on top of the actual led feels like a silicone.
I'm going to use an adhesive called plexus to glue a small strip of aluminum angle to the inside of the gunnel, we'll see how long the 3m adhesive lasts on the back of the led strips. I cut the strips 12" long and plugged it into a cordless 12v battery to see how long of a chunk I wanted to use. 1 foot may be too bright, and I can always trim them down.

I'm more of haul ass to the sandbar last one to leave type. Cupholders in the hula actually siphon themselves empty...You may not easily be able to reach those cup holders but they will be a multi use as will allow the access to bolt it, as well if your a sip and cruiser it gives a nice fast stash place for the beer in coozie then having a Diet Coke in same color coozie in the close to and normal location cup holder. My dad was a big time beer drinker and was keen on passing tips to me, i took the first tip and just don’t drink at all!! Lol
You guys need to try plexus. It's a 2 part adhesive. You'll find it on Amazon. The mini caulk gun type deal and a 50cc with the swizzle stick mixing chamber deals will run ya 25-30 bucks. Sets in 5 minutes, and you'll have to use a chain to tear it off. The psa glue that comes on the back is merely a suggestion. Lolol...Order on eBay then bring it bye next week! Hard part out here in the heat is getting it to stay up! I just got a 250’ roll of 18/2 wire and have well over 100’ left from what i ordered it for. We could bust it out in an hour or so.

The 3M tape works really well. Specially when you use the primer for it. I used that combo a lot when I worked at a trailer Fab shop. The aluminum itself would actually tear before the adhesive failed. It was that crazy good.I had to, little hotter out here, use 30# 1” 3m tape, i made a 82” strip for each side and then laid them out on the tape, then a sharp xacto blade to cut them apart as i laid one strip next to the other on the 1” tape then stuck them up. I tried the cheap stock stuff lasted an hour then the 10# then the 10# and hot glue, the 30# 3m was the only thing that worked!
