Earlier in this thread there was some confusion as to which "Schiada in storage" this was. Here's pictures of the one we looked at last year. Out near Perris if my memory is accurate. This is the one that got hit by a house boat. It's a bit of a wreck... price was 3-4 times what the one listed in this thread sold for I think.

Aloha

I bought the boat. Need parts. Anyone have a 12 degree C500 Casale they want to sell. Also exhaust system for BBC. Thanks, Jerry

Awesome. Can't wait to see you bring her back to life.

You are correct. I looked at this one in Perris the day before I bought the one in storage in Arizona. It needs a Lot of work. Very nice man owns it. He is closing down his contractor business and is now going to enjoy life, so I am sure he would be willing to deal somewhat on it.

My uncle owned the one in storage in CA over 20 years ago. It was real nice when he had it but looks pretty hammered now.

This is the same Boat I looked at also, but it was in San Bernardino, and the Gentleman told me the story about the house boat backing into it.
At that time I think he was asking $12000.00

Here is the only two pictures I can find. They are not very good. This was just after I got it. I need to get motivated and finish the interior.

Damm this boat brings back memories, I'd love to have one. I still can't get the stepped rail out of my mind everytime I see newer 22's.

I think Lee should have left it IMO.

I agree Groper. The step in the gunnel is what really defines an older 22 Schiada. Very distinctive! I have one and prefer the stepped gunnel over the straight one on later model 22's from '83 and up.

You will have every bit of $25,000 in it by the time you are done. Mine had a trans and V-drive in it when I bought it. Had the trans. freshened by Art Carr and the orig. C-500 leaked so I bought a freshened up C-500 with 29's in it from SteveO143.

The Boat got:

Brand New 502 CI BBC-$7,600
Turbo 400 freshened and fit with Art Carr Spline Drive-$2,000
New/Rebuilt V-drive=$1,200
New Prop Shaft, Cruiser Rudder, Turn fin, stuffing boxes, strut bushings=$2,000
All new gauges=$500
New Switches and all new wiring harness=$900
New Transom wood glassed in by Oc Boat Repair=$1,800
Mercruiser Center Rise Manifolds for now=$300 (hope to buy some nice thru transom headers or perf. manifolds this year
Fuel and water line plumbing=$800
New Tiller Arm= $250
All New Hardware Throughout=$1,000
New Menkens 3-blade prop=$900
Swim Step and a bunch of clean up and set-up work and plate adjustment=$2,000
Complete Trailer Restoration with bow walk, fresh paint, pin striping, all new LED lighting, diamond plate steps, chrome baby moons, new tires, new 9-inch wide fenders, new bunks, new bearings, all new wiring, new 90 degree bow stand and roller, new crank, added electric brakes= $4,000

I color sanded and polished out the hull with the help of my Dad at our lake house.

The boat could use new interior but it is decent and fully functional. Eventually I will have new interior and carpet done and reconfigure it with two buckets, a flat hatch and bench seat. that will likely run $6,000

I also want to do a nice exhaust eventually and MSD igntion and have the CF numbers lettered on and the non-skid resurfaced.

I could have bought a turn key Schiada for what I have invested but I do have the pride of restoring it and getting it back on the water and I had alot of fun with the project. I enjoy the boat with my wife and daughter on Lake Mead and we boat with my parents and their 1980 22 Schiada that I grew up in. We are a Schiada family.

I'd love to share some pics but don't know how to get them up here. Any help?

Travis
I stopped counting receipts about about 70K :)

Nice boat. I bought the boat that was in storage. Have done a lot of work cleaning and polishing it up. It looks very good now. Put a rebuilt V-drive in it and a turbo 400. Steve the owner was nice enough to help me find the original motor mounts and drive line for it. It is ready for the motor and I am considering selling it. Might have a line on a complete twin turbo boat is the only reason. This is a very solid boat. Floors are perfect and just a few stress cracks in the normal places. Excellent Ellis trailer.

I estimate I'll put another 13-15K in mine to do the additional things I want.
