Delivery day.

First outing will be at pirates late march. It's got a Revolution 4 23P prop, I have a feeling I will change it.

Gotta love that new boat smell, it’s even better than the new car smell I think.

Here's a shot of me Runnin. I want to try some different props, looking for a Bravo 1 FS. 23-26 inch pitch.

Great looking boat! That boat is so fun to drive I’m sure I’m going to miss it. I’m curious how that bikini looks open. I had a hideaway Bimini tucked under the hatch but I think the coverage was lacking.

I haven't run the boat with the Bimini open yet, I probably will this weekend. It's pretty good, covers from the windshield to about halfway back on the hatch. only downside is I'm 6'4" and can't stand up straight under it. The fabric also seems a little loose, I might end up cutting the front poles an inch or so to tighten things up.

Bimini works good. They could have moved it forward a scotch over the windshield, but it's tight and doesn't balloon at speed. Ran it up to 70 MPH yesterday and no issues.

Little update…

My boat came with a 23 inch Rev 4. Fastest I saw was 80 MPH at 6820RPM going DOWN river. This prop had a lot of transom lift and made the Boat run wet. It also didn’t like a lot of engine trim and the Boat porpoised all the time. Especially with people in the bow.

I switched to a 25 Bravo 1 FS and it’s a much better prop for this hull. The water breaks further back on average and it doesn’t porpoise anymore while cruising. I can give it way more trim. Fastest on the 25 is 78 MPH at 7000 RPM going UP river. The boat rolls right over onto plane no problem. Even with the jack plate up.

If I ever get the urge to go faster, I’ll order a 26. Which will happen...

We will be out at Pirates again July 14th. I have the B1 26p that Greg gave me to try on my boat. Still has never seen water…. If you want to run it and see how it does before you order one, I will bring it out with me.

Appreciate it, but I won’t be there. Gotta go to work for a couple months, next time I have the boat out will be in September. 🤘🏻

Hello Gents,
I took delivery of my 22 deck with a 400r. Also, have the rev 4 23 pitch and Bennett tabs. 10 hours on it in Needles the last 2 weekends. So far 70mph 5800 rpm wot. What prop are you guys currently running? It looked like Bravo 1 FS 25 for stability and speed?

Welcome to the 22 outboard club.

Did you choose the HD lower? Does it have a low water pickup? If not then you need to pay close attention to water pressure and temp.

I have a sport master with a 1.75 ratio and the 25FS is a way better prop. The boat rides on the step correctly and the official speed is 81mph with 14% slip at 7000. I will be getting a 26FS for more speed.

You boat has the V10 with a 1.60 ratio. If slip stays similar to mine then you should see about 83 at 6600 rpm with the 25FS

Here is a photo of my boat riding on the step. I run 4-5 on the Jack plate and about 5 indicated trim.

I stay at pirates all the time. After I get a 26 I’ll let you try out my 25.

Thank you for the welcoming message. We are happy to be in the club! Reading your posts helped with a lot of our choices. I would love to try the 25 fs1 prop. You indicated it reduces the porpoise a bit midrange right? It might be worth a purchase for a spare.

I’m glad this forum helped.
Yes, the FS is a much better riding prop for our boat. It just generally rides better all around. Less transom lift and more bow lift. I’m surprised shockwave delivered another outboard with a rev 4.

Rev 4’s are designed for big heavy boats and rough water. Not for air entrapment hulls.

Your boats a little different with the HD gearcase but the FS should still work way better. 5800 rpm is low. I saw and increase in rpm from 6800 to as high as 7100-7200 switching from a 23 rev 4 to the 25FS.

Give me a call later if you want to talk more details.
