Marc, congratulations on the beautiful trailer! I have been following this build from the beginning and it turned out really nice. I love the wheel/tire comb too; they look sharp!

Bravo1, welcome to RDP. Forgive me while I "Hi-jack" this thread to respond to your comment.

I know plenty of people who fabricate for a living and have built profitable businesses due to their abilities to create works of art from a simple piece of 4130. Seeing the final products that these talented individuals create makes my welds look less than attractive. I will admit that I am not a "World Class" fabricator but I can lay down some pretty nice beads and luckily for me, I haven't had anything come apart yet (Maybe that just means I need more motor?!?).

Maybe you are one of these fortunate and talented fabricators who can lay down a row of dimes without any effort and if that's the case, then congratulations.

Regardless, I am not trying to be a jerk or stir the pot but I just felt the need to respond because I found it a little bit rude that the only comment you made was in regards to the finish of the welds on this trailer.

Again, Marc, it's a beautiful trailer and I hope you continue to post additional photos once you have the boat loaded.

Stay safe!

WOW!
where does the spare go ?
were you going to mount it under the bow ?
I like it in the truck bed with the jack. :D

You don't need a spare Glenn! If you get a flat you just remove one of the center wheels and keep on Rollin!

Gee Mark, Why isn't it Stainless Steel? Why isn't it depleted uranium? Couldn't you have had more flat screen TV screens involved? What about if it ever gets wet? Have you thought about the well thought out catwalk carpet? What i mean to say is Marc- WE WOULD HAVE DONE IT DIFFERENT IF WE HAD THE TIME AND MEANS AND MONEY
AND PATIENTS AND LOVE AND RESPECT FOR YOUR BOAT AND, AND, AND...

Looks rad...can't wait to back it in for you...

And as a "Dime Laying" Welder, I appreciate and condone the lack of grinding to the welds. The trailer looks great for one. It was not TIG welded. It was MIG welded. Grinding the welds "flat" will shorten the life of the trailer. Yes, it's a can of worms, challenge me- I am not short on welding knowledge. I would be glad to give a class on the trailers that last, and the ones that don't. (the ones that don't include my own, BTW)

Back on track....Marc...can we finish the boat yet?

Looks really good Marc!

Now about that idea that somebody put out there about a nice piece of polished diamond plate for a prop guard mounted on the underside of the rails running rearward from the third brakelite........

:D

Without knowing anything about your heads and camshaft, I would think it would be somewhere in there.

Heads are dart pro 1's and the cam was bought from carson. Not to sure on the specs though.
