215 or the 15. Vegas to SD??

What is the best route? Stay on the 15 or take the 215, Friday afternoon Southbound.

Heading Southbound.....best bet is to probably stay on the 15. You will hit traffic either way but the 215 gets pretty bad at the 91/60/215 interchange and all the way into Moreno Valley is pretty bad that time of day. Plus its little out of the way IMO.

the 215 is the most direct and doesn't loop as much the 15. Depending on time of day your roll through Riverside the traffic can hang you up a little. Drove it a few weeks ago around 1 in the afternoon on Friday and had no holdups.

leaving Vegas at Noon, should be at the bottom of the Cajon Pass by 3:00 ish.

On paper it should be faster to use the 215 but it narrows to two lanes for most of the way which makes it riskier mid week. Every time I've tried it, I regretted it. Now I stick with the 15 and stay in the fast lane. So, I say 15 all the way.

they both suck in the afternoon. the 15 will be a parking lot starting rancho cucamonga/ontario area and be that way to temecula off an on.

60/215 at 3:45. Going west on 60. From there south on the 215 is 75 mph all the way to Temecula. Slows a bit at the 215/15 merge with that pile of shit off ramp right there. Just merge FAST from the 215 to 15, STAY in the fast lane, theres another shit off ramp a few miles after that. You will be doing 80, the 2 lanes to the right will be doing 5!!!
