The individual teak steps on the Ultra have reached the end of their lives, so time to upgrade to a full width “family friendly” swim platform. Fairly low profile 21 Ultra with a Bravo One. I like the Hallet 210 version with the “hump” in the middle. Also have seen billet platforms that have a hinged middle section that flips up when the out drive is raised.

Anyone else have recommendations and/or pics of their setup? Thanks!

I think @RiverDave mentioned something about a swim step company in Havasu.

@BUDMAN used them for his boat. Can’t think of the name, but one of those 2 will.

It is Swimplatformslhc.com. They can custom make you pretty much anything you want, with umbrella holders and all kinds of cool shit.

If it was my forever boat, I would do a full width custom platform. My Ultra has those same little shelfs in billet and they just flat out suck. Sure, they're better than nothing, but they are at too much of an angle and too small to be useful for any kind of hanging out. I definitely miss the molded in swim platform from my previous boat.

I have that of type individual swim steps on my Cole . I inquired at the swim step company in Havasu. It’s about five grand to do it, but they said they can make it to fit the back to the transom and then 24 inches wide . It would be level where the deck and hull meets so the outdrive would be able to go into trailer up position. This would include making four custom brackets and using the existing holes in the transom to bolt through.

Try Carrera boats because they may have a mold that works. I had the individual teak swim steps and I had them make new fiberglass ones that were gel coated to match the boat. They came out awesome. Bolted them up to the existing brackets.

These were about the closest thing to the original Cole steps that we could find. They did say they used them for some Cole’s back in the day.

Thats a good looking boat. I am not the biggest fan of yellow but that definitely works.

Here is The Hallett hump that you described. I have seen the flip up middle section. Not sure which I’d like better, Post up whatever route you go with as others are watching. 👍

Maybe talk to Essex. They had a full width swim step where the center would come up for the outdrive on a few different models. Not sure they have the molds anymore.

Why couldn’t they just raise up the sides to match the center?
I don’t see why they couldn’t do that Paul. My thought is that then it would be that much higher out of the water and make it more difficult to climb the ladder. 🤷‍♂️ Next time that I am on the water I will try to grab a photo to see where the water comes up to the step as it is.

Todd at Tahiti made this one for my friends 21’ ultra a couple years back. I think they were using the same ones on the 21’ skiers

Where is a good p[lace to have a teak platform done? I have two small billet ones on my howard but would love a teak one to match the look of the boat a bit better and have more room to sit/chill.

Ever since you added that swimstep, my wife has been asking for that upgrade on the boat.

Are you happy with the work they did?

Still trying to decide having them do mine here in town, or dragging it to Eliminator.
Very happy with the work they did. Very easy to deal with and very accommodating. I had a special request they were willing to do.

That’s nice. My cousin has a 21 Ultra jet and she has those little billet swimsteps that are a total pain.

What was the cost on that, and do they still do them?

Can they mount that retractable ladder under it?

Not sure where you are located, but as mentioned above Carrera Boats does great work and I don't think get the credit they deserve...this is not my boat just a pic I grabbed off their site...but I take my boat to them for everything and haven't had a bad experience yet.
