If Government Motors was to bring back the El Camino name, they would be smart to make it fit the compact unibody truck segment like the Ford Maverick. This compact fuel efficient truck category is growing and is dominated by Ford right now.
Hyundai released the Santa Cruz in this segment. They have not had the same success as Ford though. The Honda Ridgline actually grew up out of this segment of compact unibody trucks. I think Toyota is releasing the Stout back in this category. Heard GM might release one called the Montana in the USA, that is already available in other countries. I think bringing back a known name El Camino like Ford did with Maverick would make more sense, plus unlike the Maverick, which was a car and should have been called the Ranchero, the El Camino was a truck on car platform.
I guess we should just be grateful Government Motors did not call their Silverado EV unibody truck a El Camino and ruin its legacy. Chevy ruined the Blazer name with that shit box car they built with a Camaro looking front end.
