PLTR good earnings equals dip.
PLTR bad earnings equals dip.

Every damn time lol.
It seems like all of them follow this pattern. If nothing else, you can trade on the earnings and pick up some small gains.

Ah I bought munis when interest spiked last year.

i'm just siting on insured munis paying 5% tax free and going about life.

Well played!

Question for you. Are muni's "callable" if interest rates tanks like most CD products, or is that not a thing....... also, do you buy munis from your brokerage account, or how do you acquire them? Thanks!!!!

I buy them myself using Schwab I sort to my preferences and usually pick munis in TX and AZ

Yes they are generally callable but I pick them based on first call date, it can be 5-10+ years out on a new issue. I also look at ratings and whether they are insured. Pay attention to the “yield to worst” number.
When buying on the open market it is particularly important to look at call dates, maturity dates, etc as that plays into the true yield. Schwab shows yield to maturity and yield to worst, which the later would take into account the price you paid and the next possible call date. You have to be careful to get what you want.
Nice thing is the 5% munis have now appreciated and if I wanted to sell them Id make a nice profit on top of the 5% tax free coupon.

Well I spent my money for the day. All those purchases are green for now.

Leaving some money in the sidelines incase it gets worse or stays here.

It is bullshit for sure, lost out on an amazing amount of profit this am, did a few call in orders for free due to their outage but by the time I got through the 2 I really wanted rebounded 10 & 27k so I had to pass on those 2, this was a historic day in drop in Nasdaq and a crap load of money was made the first 15 minutes of trading on its rebound from over 1k down.
Yep, was hoping to buy. I still can't login to Schwab. Missed today's fire sale!

Don’t know if the servers were just overloaded or what I did finally get in. But it is kind of irritating if you need to move on a position. 😒

I had to try over 20x to log in and finally got in and got what I wanted even though I had to pay more than what I had set to pay due to the bull crap login issues. I think you still have some time today and maybe tomorrow if it continues.

I’m going to do some buying today.

NMTC
Nvidia
VUG

Maybe
F
PLTR
SOFI
So many great stocks that dropped so drastically end of last week and Today due to fear and not justified drops, it is times like these that provide the opportunity to make some AMAZING profits if fear is not brought into the process. Funny on Friday and Today I added a crap load more of 3 of the stocks you mentioned and am up on one of them just from this am, and YES I already sold that one. Crazy Exciting investment times for sure right now.

I’m glad I have what I have but I sure wasn’t loading up on more in a market like this. He is right in past earnings releases.

Just because it’s up this much and after hours doesn’t mean it’s gonna open up green tomorrow.
I’m in for the long haul. I’m hoping I’m the next C-ya. Might take more than my measly 245 shares to get there though!

Ballin on a budget🤣🤣🤣

Honestly this stock should’ve been to the moon a long time ago when compared to Nvidia multiples. It’s been an up and down roller coaster of disappointment.

Killed it! Let’s go!!!
I've got some cash set aside and plan to just start banking some each month so I should not pay so much attention to the daily, I was just anticipating an opportunity. That opportunity was early in the am. I missed it.

I have another one I have been studying closely and it reports in two days. Maybe I'll get lucky with that one.

I also hope I can learn from @C-Ya :)

So if rates get slashed will there be a move to high yield stocks as people look for alternatives to money market? I'm thinking of setting up for this

Thoughts?

It looks like there will be an initial bump up today. Not sure it will hold thru the day. There will be volatility for a while and thats the only thing I am sure of. Day traders should be having lots of opportunity right now.

Whats everybody's take on today?

I had a FOMO yesterday and I’ve used that as code to stop and chill awhile. I’ve got time and not worried about a couple percent up move.

PLTR has been ride so far.

Bought in a while back and lost 1k and then it climbed back up to even and then I made some $$$ over time and then I lost some money yesterday and now I'm up some $$$$.

I hate the stock market and i'm as lucky as @boatman22 i could have made more money off the money i invested flipping a car:D  :p

My plan is to hold long term and see where were at in 10+
years.

Not sure why people think this is news. CEO’s do not get to sell shares on a moments notice. Their sales are planned months and sometimes years in advance.

Look it up.
As the article that was attached explained....Just thought it was interesting...

(Bloomberg) -- Nvidia Corp.’s Jensen Huang continued his summer of selling, offloading a record $322.7 million worth of shares in July just ahead of a wider tech stock selloff.

Combined with the shares he unloaded in June, the chipmaker’s co-founder and chief executive officer has sold almost $500 million worth since the stock hit its peak amid an AI-fueled rally.

While the June and July sales were executed under a 10b5-1 trading plan adopted in March, the timing proved fortunate. Nvidia shares have tumbled 14% over last three trading days, including 6.4% on Monday as the Nasdaq 100 Index fell to its lowest level since May.

Most people believe the title to the story though. It’s click bait.

What I want to know is do they HAVE to sell after filing the intent. Like camping reservations, I know I want to go this summer, I’ll just book every week end the cancel until I’m ready. @Chump change

Jensen is worth what $90+ billion? So, he's sold less than $2 billion since 2020? Similar % as average Joe selling $2,000 of $90,000+. I don't see any issues with his recent sales. Doesn't seem anything other than diversifying and good market timing. The guy co-founded NVIDIA, I think he's earned the windfall.

The media has been funny lately.

So the market drops to where it was at 6 weeks ago and everyone freaks out. Everything seemed fine 6 weeks ago. Nothing to worry about.
