Rob, was hoping we were going to make it this year but it doesn't look like it's in the cards....:confused:

Unfortunately wont be able to make it down for the shootout but just got done making arrangements and will be coming down Wednesday night without the pup for labor day. Or would you rather me send the pup and me stay home 😂

I took the time off and we were planning on going. Would have been the first time. We were going to caravan with a friend and his wife. He was going to run his single 1200 HP 29 Fountain in the shoot out. Turn out he couldn’t get his motor completed in time.

Maybe next year..

Trying to possibly get there for SuperCat Fest. We’re going to have the 4 newest DCB M37R’s there, (one of them is Bryce Menzies new sled painted by Stephen Miles) with a total of 7-8 of them, plus at least one M44 as well as other sterndrive boats.

We’re in the middle of building the first M42R, so not an ideal time for me to be out of the shop.
I’ll definitely let you know one way or the other what’s going on.👍🏽

It absolutely can be on the busy side of the lake. A 28 deck will get thru it slowly. Once you get past Captain Rons (34 mile marker) it calms down

We had our friends Conquest Top Cat there last year for 7 days, no issues at all with the water conditions or getting to all the bars!
Was so much fun it’s going back again this year, although we are not able to make it this time. Highly recommend

Rob running his 28 skater in the slop. Like a boss!!! 😁👍

I actually think a cat is better out there because the slop comes from the sides. Cats kinda walk across and it dampens it with the tunnel where vees get rocked back
And for like a chine walk.

Finest look bad in this video but it was sloppy. And if you take note, you’ll see what I’m talking about, the wakes come from the sides after bouncing off the steep shoreline.

Thanks bud. Ours was a 308 Skater, a foot wider, a foot taller, & 2 1/2' longer than a 28 + a 1000 lbs heavier I believe. The last pic was F14's 28 Speed Racer beside us.
That video Tank posted was from Cig Rendezvous 2021 & as he mentioned it was pretty rough but not terrible

I always do that. Sorry. I can never remember if it’s a 30 or 28 and then I think of Dale’s 30 he had and that boat seems so big. Either way, that skater was a beast!!! 😍👍

Speaking of you running the cig run….i love this photo!! I will have it blown up and hung eventually. 😂😂😂

That lake has no problems airing out a 12k lb boat with ease.

If had to choose between a small performance boat (22 Chaudron) or bowrider (Formula 240BR), which would you bring to the Shootout, @lake p.a.l.?

The Formula the more comfortable viewing platform (layout, head), but less fun?


Which would you choose between your Shadow and cruiser?

Would you think the Formula a better choice than either (splitting the difference)? Or too much a compromise?

Still bummed we didn’t make it this year. My buddy (who was going to caravan with us) finally got his motor finished last week. 555 ci with the big pro-charger and intercooler. He tells me it dynoed at 1170 and it’s in a single 29 Fountain. His plan was to actually enter in the single class. It runs with a 32 pitch four blade (1.5 ratio) and he’s got an Imco SCX outdrive.

Hit the upper river with him yesterday. Wouldn’t take it above 5400 since he’s still breaking it in. And even then for just short periods. Was at 9 psi at 5400 but set up to eventually get to 14 psi. Mid range acceleration was pretty impressive. Excuse the thumb on the video, taking It was a bit challenging..

hopefully next year...
