The King Ranch models are very luxurious, pretty much unavailable in the southwest United States, other than a few in Texas.
This is four-wheel-drive, standard diesel no moonroof traditional King Ranch colors in white, and the light tan interior with the spray in bedliner and mudflaps. They come with pretty much everything else standard and the 331 locker rear end.

I had to get a 2023 as the ETA for this vehicle was unknown . They generally take six months to get and there are none on any dealers lot.

So I get a notice today it’s finally built an end shipment come into a dealer in Southern California that will likely sell it to someone before it arrives at MSRP which is just about 91,000.

If anyone has an interest in purchasing this new, get a hold of me ASAP through messaging and I will refer you to the dealer contact that came through an RD contact.

I've never liked the King Ranch because I've found the leather seats to be firmer feeling than say Limited, Platinum or Lariat buckets. I've contributed that to the thicker seat material exclusive to the KR trim.
My ole boney ass prefers a softer leather and I've found the 2023 (And hoping the '24's as well) leather buckets to be more supple and more comfortable than those in my '18 Raptor.

RR, yes, and thanks for the referrals was a great guy to work with but he like all dealers have no control over Ford production and when they went on strike, I could just see the time increasing to maybe six months. I need something sooner than that. Keep in mind everyone this is about 5% at the most of Ford production for the King Ranch due to chip shortage. The platinum is about 3% of production.

Wasn't sure about the chip shortage continuing to be a problem. I've just noticed every new truck on a lot, it's window sticker shows item credits for various features being shorted.

Love mine, but still in shock over no tire pressure monitor gage, had to go after market.
Talking individual wheel readout. Also tire wear constant fight, but I’m a tire fanatic, darn Continental’s are 550 each. It’s a 450.

Glad they/you can afford that, I sure as hell cant !!!!!!
NSF

I don’t want one personally, but people do. You can get a $50k truck that will tow the same load and do the same things.

I bought a 2023 F2 50 king ranch with a 331. It’s fabulous so far the most I’ve towed with a bumper tow is about 13,000. Runs fabulous, insane power. That’s the one I posted earlier when I bought it unloaded gets over 22 miles a gallon on the road at about 75.

Yep my F250 I bought this week does not have Nav or XM capability due to chip shortage . But not a problem as I have that on my phone and Android Auto on the stereo . Works just fine .

Damn, Ford's missing out on their golden opportunity to get you on their subscription plan, if they don't bait you with Nav capability.
I'm surprised XM is even a thing with everybody using blue tooth devices or in my case flash drives.

2022 Charger came with an XM navigation system subscription for one year.
I didn’t renew it. I like Waze and my phone has XM radio as well. 👍

Fyi; you’re not gonna get a $50,000 F250 anywhere even if you ordered it I think the base price is around 65,000 and the diesel option is another 10. I think a decent F250 XLT is about 75,000 window sticker with acceptable options. Hey, we have to remember we’re in a world of $85,000 F1 50s.

IRS 179!!

Life changes on new vehicle cost they haven’t gone down the last five years.

I’ve had a HO diesel Platinum on order for over 14 months.

The HO diesel option with Platinum or Kings Ranch are tough to find.

The limited is even harder.

Prices are based on features and capability.

Base F250 Crew Cab with the 6.8 and 10 speed, under $51k.

This truck has more standard features than all but the nicest 10+ year old trucks. It can tow 14,000 lbs with the stock gearing or 17,000 lbs with the 4.30 gears.

With all the higher trims people may not want to drive a base truck, but it’s there, it’s reasonably priced and has just about all the stuff they are used to in an older truck.

If you want to tow 20k lbs, yea you need to open your wallet.

It‘s been 23 years.

And it wasn’t a F250.

And it wasn’t a diesel.

And it wasn’t a King Ranch trim.

What would a truck with similar specifications cost today?

A base model extended cab F150 is $40k and has way more features and capability than the 24 year old truck. It is also a larger vehicle with more space.

That original Tundra is the same
Size size as a modern Chevy Colorado/Ford Ranger.

A base Ranger is $34,200. Again with way more features than the 23 year old Tundra.

I’m not a king, so I can’t afdord one.
I’m not a rancher so the trim level doesn’t really appeal to me.

Much like when I was shopping trucks in 05, the Harley Davidson edition didn’t appeal to me either.
I liked the interior materials but the HD logo everywhere was like the interior of some of the boats we see with the logo in 10,000 places in the interior.

Most of the “features” they offer today (a bunch of electric shit that will fail or need update sooner than later) most of us boney ass old guys don’t want anyhow😂

All I know is even if I put 40k into my old junk this season in paint, interior, engine upgrades,a gear vendor etc I still wouldn’t have 100k in it. Including the trans and injectors we did in the last 2 years.

If you spent $40k this year you’d have a 20 year old truck you spent $80k+ on over 20 years that is worth $20k.

It just depends on how someone wants to burn their money I guess.

A new $50k base truck can do everything a 20 year old truck can do.

When I bought my Hemi Megacab in 2008 I paid around $30K. Every option available except sunroof. It has given me 200,000 absolutely trouble free miles.
Nowadays I see that if I had bought the same truck with a diesel I'd be able to sell it for just about what I paid for it back then.
I keep my rides for a long time, but I can't see how at 62 years of age, I would live long enough to get $80,000+ use out of a new truck. And the thought of having to take a newer truck back to the dealership for a repair is as frightening as having to write that first check to buy the silly thing.
I'd buy a condo before sinking $100K on a new truck.

My 2021 2500 was $47k plus fees. It has leather, heated seats, navigation, Z71 4x4. And a whole bunch of stuff I will never figure out or use. But it a peasants ride as it's gas only rated to tow 16k lbs. I have no interest in getting a class A license so I am limited to 9,999 lbs towing. It's rated about the same towing as my 15 Duramax work truck. As it is 30k gcwr.

Except with a payment…unless you have $50k burning holes in your pocket then you can cash out.

Well the complainant was truck prices have doubled, triples or quadrupled. I’m simply saying they have not. You can pay double for more features and more capabilities if you wish to, but you don’t have to.

A 2000 Tundra is not equal to a 2024 F250 King Ranch diesel.

My 2005 Tundra has a 8' bed though. Lol. Damn thing is bulletproof. Has almost as many Miles on it as my 5 other vehicles combined. I thought I had it on liability only. Told my agent and he said no. It's valued at 14k if stolen. Paid $3200 from Glamis Mike 10 years ago or so.

I think a blind person could figure that out…lol.
I’m not anti new trucks(I really don’t need all the bells and whistles)except the price tags. I’m sure if I owned my own successful business and it came down to giving Ole Uncle Sam a bunch of money or spending it on a new piece of “work equipment “ I’d be looking at that equipment/truck

“A new $50k base truck can do everything a 20 year old truck can do”

I was noting your comment on the base truck to a 20 year old truck. It seems anymore most people replace vehicles more frequently as that vehicle starts to age.
I own 2 almost 20 year old vehicles…my 04 Jetta TDI (commuter) which is all I need to make my daily money…gets 50 mpg with no payment. I put aside $500-1,000 a year for maintenance beyond services. Some years I use some of that side money, most of the time I don’t. My other is 05 Dodge CCSB 5.9 tow vehicle which I do the same formula of side money. I’d rather use vehicle payment for other investments like properties.

People have different reasons & needs to purchase. Some buy to accommodate towing/ranching needs. Others buy it to impress or cause envy to their neighbors & friends.

....so you chose a Chrysler? 🤣
🤣 🤣

You don’t get much to “choose” from.

I’ve had this one for 18 months (49k miles), and I’m already thinking about trading it in on another one, 😉

Prices just go up, a 2023 F 250 diesel with NO other options is 62G, plus tax etc. High content trucks are much more. This is my driver, company truck, so I get what I desire type situation.
