With MaK breaking her arm, I'm going to be out unfortunately. Safe boating to you all!

I kinda forgot about it, but maybe would be in..I just don't want to go alone. If I can grab a couple people to go (you and your crew are welcome) I'd probably do it. It's a bucket list thing for me.

@H20 Toie @OldSchoolBoats either of you want to go?

I didn’t see this until now.. I’m taking plaster Dave’s boat up to Laughlin and riding with him.

Other than a registration there’s nothing special needed to land at Katherine’s right?

I've made most of these runs over the years. in 2020 this was the start of the Bailey Grand Slam.............Lake Mohave, Lake Powell, Lake Mead, and Lake Havasu all in one week. I'm not going to make it this years as I have a Houseboat in Lake Powell reserved starting next Wednesday.

you guys have fun

So you guys know. Katherines/lake mead recreation area changed there yearly pass from a sticker to a card. This means that everyone has to stop now and show their cards instead of being waved through. Doesnt sound like a big deal but at katherines it is. There is only one lane leading up to a quarter mile before the pay booth.

GET THERE EARLY. the line starts to backup at 8am now. last trip I got there about 7:30am and got right through. my buddy waited to leave until 8am and he sat in the line for the pay booth for an hour and a half.

What’s the plan? Katherine’s group meets cottonwood and then head to the dam? Are there stops on the way?

Should be non stop until you get to Cottonwood and clear the basin. Then I think there was always one stop before the no wake zone below the dam to cool off.

FYI, There is a new Maverik on 95 hwy in Bullhead that opened a month ago that has ethanol free fuel , the only fuel station that carries in the area that I know of . Easy in and out it’s pretty good size Maverik . If you don’t fuel I would turn right at the Park way to avoid going through town with all the stop lights and traffic.

Been watching the thread all week. Big case of FOMO over here but this trip just didn’t line up with the other vacations this summer. Have a great time y’all. Looking forward to photos.

Is there a preferred way out of havasu?

View attachment 1263579
That’s pretty much it. 95 to the 40, back into CA briefly then exit, go over bridge back into AZ and go up the 95 through Ft Mohave.

Like someone said, if you need fuel to to the Mavericks in Bullhead. It’s cheaper there than the Mavericks in Havasu. Then go up to Katherine’s.

If you don’t need fuel, right on Bullhead Parkway and bypass most of town.

Filled up at sams club in BHC. It was $3.76 for premium.

Big thank you to @regor for the ride back to KL yesterday in his beautiful Eliminator 27 Speed Deck.

Coming back from the dam, we got squeezed out of the deep part of the river/channel about a half mile south of the dam and I tore up my brand new 33” Max 5s on a rock bar at idle speed. The amazing part was my depth gauge went from 27’ to 3’ before I could even think to turn left at 5MPH. It was just a few seconds from beginning to end as I threw the drives in neutral and shut the engines off immediately to limit damage. After getting in the water to inspect the props, I fired the motors up and idled back to the big beach just south of the dam where I linked up with a few members and discussed my tragedy.

Before arriving at the beach, I got on the CB radio and called Boat Tow US on channel 16 where they informed me they would be 3-4 hours before they could come get me so we thanked them and cancelled the call. Once at the beach, @regor then offered me a ride and said he would leave the beach in about a half hour to catch up with me near Willow.

We idled back to Willow Beach Marina, over an hour away, to keep from causing harmful vibrations in the drivetrain where I dropped my step dad, wife and 2 kids off at the restaurant there, tied up the boat, and hopped on with @regor and his buddy Jeff for a kick ass ride back to KL. Once back at KL, they dropped me at the courtesy dock where I ran up to the truck at the dirt lot, went and picked up the trailer from the first big paved lot, picked up fuel at the Terrible’s on 68 and then proceeded back to Willow Beach via the 68 and 93 at about 85MPH.

I arrived back at the Willow Beach Marina at 4:49 and the restaurant was closing at 5 so at no point did my kids have to sit outside in the heat besides the time on the boat where they stayed in the cabin.

FYI I offered @regor money for the gas and ride but he wouldn’t accept and instead I’ll be buying him dinner and drinks next time he’s out in the valley of the sun.

I’ll post pics later when I have better internet.

Beautifully before the incident. Cruise speed is about the same as the Maximus 32s. Haven’t tested top speed but we jumped up to 85 as the skater with 2 strokes passed us near the dam.
