College football lost a legend this morning. Mike Leach passed away. He was the head coach of Mississippi state

His coaching tree includes Josh Huepel, Sonny Dykes, Lincoln Riley and Cliff Kingsbury
RIP Sir.

Booked a hotel room in Glendale before I knew my Wolverines were going to be in the Fiesta Bowl just in case. Live local , so we could have cancelled it without any problems. Booked a room a few miles from SoFi in case we make it.

This happened this morning.

Go Blue!

Great game, but a Heisman winner needs to beat Tulane.
I fucking agree. The D lost at the end. But the Heisman winner should have never gave up that Safety and had other missed opportunities to put the game further out of reach. Probably just blew a Top 10 ranking to start next year as well.

Time for the grand daddy of them all!
If Utah can get the win. What a great day. And I told my wife I’ll take you to Larsons tomorrow for dinner. (Not just happy hour) if they do it. 😜😱

Best team money can buy(USC) got beat by an AAC team that won a total of 2 games last year.
Guess Riley should ask the boosters for more NIL money to throw at selfish free agents like Atchison.

My wife was like. Dude calm down. I was like leave the room I have hope. Lol.
What a game though in all seriousness. Very entertaining and suspenseful

The company where I worked for almost 40 years was based out of New Orleans. I’ve a bunch of Tulane grad buddies who are very happy today.

Question - How does a college amateur athlete afford to charter a private jet to fly his offensive line back to NYC for the Heisman Award ceremony?? I guess . . . Just another day in the Land of Troy.

You can’t be competitive if you don’t play the NIL game. Hard to blame Riley.

I personally hate it as College Football is no longer about the University/heritage/honor/pride of school or god forbid a free education and a degree!

I don’t disagree at all.
I’m still trying to figure out how some schools “of higher education”. Can skip the gpa standards they have for an average student and over 20 + % of the team not meet those standards
Sarcasm. I got it figured out. Money. Rules only apply when they fit the rules that are made up.

It's the new hey LAM money. You're good if you win the popularity contest. 😂

I missed the game, they were up 28-14 at half I think!?!

Riley better go get some premier defenders in the portal.

That was their downfall this year. I’d probably recruit an elite DC as well. The back half of the defense was all over the place and looked lost this season. Putting up 40+ every week isn’t going to hide a shitty defense.

I don’t understand probably all the ins and outs of the portal. But simply put I hate it. You agreed to a school. Stay and play at that School. I can’t grasps how some kids now are on their 3-4th school / jumping to a different school on a whim. It has and as other things is ruining what college sports used to be. Jmho of course.

You aren’t alone. USC has been much better because of it, but I dislike it as well.

NIL money is massive. Riley has to get them money in order to keep the speedy 5 star guys from going to the SEC. The SEC money is hard to wrap your head around. Even in sports like baseball.
There are HS students bow doing commercials for NIL money

I feel I was fortunate to have been there to witness true amateur college athletics. But, even then, some schools, including SC, were seriously bending the rules. I was born and raised in So Cal. I’ve known numerous SC Alumni Boosters. But, other than John Zaby (and he played for UCLA) I’ve never known a UCLA Alumni Booster. Seems odd.

From the start it looked like Penn State had, on average, a 30# per player advantage. An illusion due to white jerseys? Maybe. Rising is missed. Seeing him walk out in civies sucked.

Anyone notice the traditional pregame flyover was not performed by a B-2. Those were 2 B-1’s, also amazing aircraft of a previous vintage. B-2s are currently on a “safety hold” due to a December fire on one of our B-2s.

Was wondering about that. Unfortunately the B-1s turned North much sooner than the B-2 did so although I did get to see them, they didn’t go over my house.

How about . . . Tulane played one hell of game?
USC was one of the best offenses in the country all season. They did it again yesterday.

Tulane wasn't one of the Top 5 offenses... but they looked like it yesterday. USC has no defense. It was the same shit all season.

I mean shit, I could miss tackles like SC's defense does.
Give the Heisman trophy back....you blew it. Lol...unreal.
Great game, but a Heisman winner needs to beat Tulane.
Caleb William's offense scored 45 points. He broke Cotton Bowl records.

The man doesn't play defense 😂 I think Lincoln Riley fully realized yesterday that you can't have a garbage defense and expect to go the distance.

As for Utah, it looks like they learned that it's hard to beat teams when the other team's best player doesn't get hurt on the third drive of the game 🤣

Fumbling a kickoff out of bounds when standing next to the sideline on your own 1 yard line had little to do with the USC defense.

That's true.

But you know what had the most to do with the USC defense and the loss? Giving up 46 points to a team that had half the time of possession (USC - 40 minutes, Tulane 20 minutes).

They scored 6-7 times in 20 minutes of possession. That's absurd.
