2018 Damn Dam Run- unofficial roll call thread

I'm thinking princes cove is the hot set up for us guys launching alone.

what time are you launching? I was thinking 630 am to try and avoid the crowds? and then hang out until the restaurant opens for breakfast.

The restaurant is not open , they do have a little sit down bar I am not sure if they have food in the am .

Princes Cove only has one small dock on the left side of the ramp maybe two boats on each side can use at a time the ramp is steep I usually go down front first make a U turn pull up straighten out then back down into water if you back down from top it's ways to back down to get to the water .

I'm not sure if you remember meeting my boss at the Pizza place at the Naci Bash last year but ol' Bob will be there. He didnt bring the V-drive Spectra though. He brought his Hallett 240, yellow and white if I recall correctly.

Going to Katherine just the woman and me..
I do all the launching parking etc......
Chit after looks like only 30 miles more to cottonwood and Ramps are closer to parking and might be better with less boats.

I just drained the monsoon water out the boat, picked up 2 new batteries, installed them, and Nothing! So my Dam run ends here until I get this rig run'n!... Any experts here? with Freightliner M2 MBE 900?

Doing something different this year. Launching out of Willow early. Cruising down to Cottonwood, meet the group and back up river.
Storm chances are weakening for Saturday so should be a good run.

My mis fortune, hub on prop blew out, , limp to trailer drunk by noon @ my pool. Should have borrowed prop from Shiada in boat trailer parking lot at Princess. Hope to do this next weekend, and have a spare prop w me. I would have liked to have met more RDP friends and earn and get the coveted t-shirt. I hope to live the experience vicariously through others pics.

Sorry I bailed early guys my old junker vapor locked after that I bailed, worried the fuel pump would quit (its orginal) needless to say its getting replaced after this.

Fuel problem a few miles from the canyon.Got bailed out by a guy in a bass boat that stopped to see if we were O.K. Towed me all the way back to Cottonwood, gave him cash for his help.It sucks but no big deal and thank god for a good deed from a fellow boater.

So I’ve done this run for many many years (10+). I have run dam to dam in the sun, in 4+ft swells, and even in the rain! Last few times I launched from Cottonwood. It makes sense because I live in Henderson. This year, because I would have 5 kids with me, I decided to launch from Willow. Wow what a different trip! We launched early enough to cruise south to Cottonwood and the river was glass and empty. No kayaks, lake lice, rental boats! So nice I put my sixteen YO daughter behind the wheel and enjoyed the cruise! Best part was, no long haul back to the trailer! Totally different trip experience!

What a great day. I have some pics and vids I’ll go through in a bit. I’m super burnt. I got the shirts in willow and I know a couple people grabbed theirs. I have he lost so I’ll mail out whatever needs to go. I need to figure out a way to get my donation sent as well. A couple of hiccups but all in all another great dam run.

Looks like a great trip. Having never been, how far is it from dam to dam? My puddle is about 20 miles long.

Water was the roughest I’ve seen it on a dam run. Watching milky get it in his schiada was pretty rad. I gave him a run for his money and stayed on top as long as I could but my dad wasn’t too happy about it. Had we not come home behind the baddest mofo on the water it would have been rough. A Hallett 285 deck is a serious serious contender for my next boat
