Well another 2 Months and no progress. Hmmm? What to do?. Anyone have family or friends in Belgium?.

New F-2 Skirace Built in Belgium. Raffshore builds 3 to 4 boats a year for the rough water Canal Race in Belgium.
This Build has full Carbon Skin 80% Exposed Clear Gel. It is a full Composite build with Carbon, Glass and Spheretex 6mm fully wetted Core mat.
The deck Is being Vac. Infused to eliminate any air in the Clear Gel.

Well another 2 Months and no progress. Hmmm? What to do? Anyone have family or friends in Belgium? Raf you want to Chime In?.

My .02 --- More than annoying yes, but provided they are communicating and you did not pay more than 50% up front I would just accept it as the unfortunate delays associated with a truly custom build. Things can go very sideways in a small shop that has many EMEA folks asking for favors. It is going to be pretty darn special when it's done.

I know exactly how you feel as I m building a new boat in the USA and live in the netherlands about 250 miles from belgium and bin once to raf s shop a friend of mine does some deals whit him now and then and I went whit him a year ago to pick some parts there .
I also have the trouble communicate whit the builder and are a year on the way now way longer then I thought and agreed in the first place but always call when there is no answer by e mail ( I understand that a boat builder is not always on his computer but a simple email or text would not be to hard to send ) about the progress and after that call there come some pics of the progress or a story why there haven t done much like last winter due to the cold temps in NY and it was to expensive to heat the shop ! I can understand that but at least tell it

Does Raf answer your phone calls or nothing at all ?

I'm in NYC. If there is anything I can do to help you please let me know. Sometimes even taking a drive by the builders location and eyeballing the location can tell a lot about how the business looks.

Ordered Full Carbon infused Velocity V-7 from Australia. Went in the mold 8/10/15.

Thanks B.J. yes the Velocity V-7 21ft. should run with the faster 20ft. F-2 boats. I should have photos this week and ship late October.

a 'pad' on the Raf, yet I don't see one in the photos of the mold . I see a 'notch', but no pad bottom, just a keel line to the notch .

Am I missing something ?

I see a tiny delta pad. 3" wide maybe but nice and long. It is visible (sorta) in the mold, and on the transom shots.

Not like we are used to seeing around here. That is for sure!

You are Correct BJ. Raf was going to modify and make larger but decided not to.

The pictures Wheeler posted are of the Velocity V-7 Full infused Carbon build. The Velocity Build started Sept 1st and ships from Australia in 3 weeks. I will start a new build thread Wheeler jumped the gun Ha Ha.

The Raf-2 has been on idle for months and Raf is sending back a full refund. Raf got side tracked working on a deal to secure The Mercury Marine facility in Europe. I wish him luck just couldn't wait any longer. He would still like to ship it but will be at his expense.
