well a Hallett is a Hallett don't have to say anything more than that. My boat would of sunk for sure in that water.

After Steve's reviews... A Hallet 270 is definitely on my bucket list. I wish I had the cash handy when he sold his.

As for the run... I might make it. If I do I'll be putting in at Cottonwood. Won't really know until a few days before.

I think we are going to get up early on Saturday and tow out. I am renting a house from the 12th - 16th in Havasu so getting a room on Friday night is not in the cards. Now that we are going to have the bigger boat, wife wants to make the run.

I am looking forward to meeting some people on here. We will be towing from Havasu on Friday. Probably staying at the Riverside. Is this a kid friendly group. I have a six year old, he is a super cool kid and will have no problem with a long day on the water.

Definitely kid friendly [emoji106], kids have a blast. just keep in mind it's a long day, 130 plus miles on the water.

On this run, you'll spend about 75% of the day on your boat. Several stops to swim, potty, grab a drink then go again. In the past, we've stopped at Cottonwood to pickup those folks, stop maybe 2 or 3 times on the way up, each stop maybe 20 minutes then throttle up again. Same on the return, some will stop at Willow Beach for lunch at the marina usually a beach stop across from Cottonwood then a final stop in Gasoline Alley just up lake from Katherine's Landing AZ side.

When we take off, look for similar boats to your own, then settle in at a similar speed. There will be a group running 80+mph, another group running 55-60mph and yet another running 35-40mph.

This ain't a speed run, no card stops, no prize for getting to the Damn Dam first...just a day of friends and soon to be friends gathering on the same day to run their boats 130 miles and see some cool spots along the way.

My kids are 9, 5 and 4. They will all be there and love making new friends. Last year on the way back everyone stopped and beached across from Cottonwood where the kids had a chance to get out and play in the sand. Totally kid friendly event!

If you're man enough...just a reminder that you may need to sit to pee for awhile after being that water. Only no wake zone is just right at Willow Beach Marina and again right up at the damn dam.
