Personally, I prefer a closed deck. Looks much sleeker IMO, comfortable to camp, and less people you 'have' to take with you. Some folks like convertibles, I prefer a coupe!

true especially for the river area but nothing a sawzall and some color matched lawn chairs couldn't fix:D

The lawn chairs would have to be upholstered in Alcantara, but yeah, you've got the right idea!

Cabin pics?

Hundreds of photos of this boat and this is the only one I can find with an interior shot. Essentially, you step down into the cabin and see the following: Integrated cooler on the left, cabinet on the right, couches on each side with storage, V berth in the bow with additional storage underneath and forward.

Nice looking Howard! Kevin & crew have repainted & completely redone several different boat trailers for me over the last several years, for a reasonable price, miss those guys. I like what you did with the trailer. If I was currently in the market I would be looking hard at this boat, just a matter of time.

I spent about 3 hrs crawling thru Marcel's boat. I'd probably would own it today had not a Nordic Heat with a stage II 600SCI come on the market the very next morning after I looked at Marcel's boat (I bought the Heat 2 hrs after it was listed sight unseen). When I looked at this bullet, he was asking $10K more. IMHO, it's priced to sell right now! Anyone in the market for a Howard 28 Bullet needs to realize that only a dozen were made and only 4 were closed bow (per Gene @ Howard). I believe that this 28 Bullet is the newest one molded and has the inner lining and glass floor. Of the 4, two are back east and 2 on the west coast. Just based on pics and emails with the east coast owners, this Bullet is by far nicer than those boats.

The glass is excellent, the retrofit brings some modern features (Vessel view, Audio), and the new upholstery is just that - NEW! The interior is like new and Howard's factory interior is really good (better than my Nordic).

The trailer on this whip is very unique. First off, it has all the nice hardware on it (retractable tie downs, front crank, landing gear, lighting, etc.) that you won't likely find on a 2006 vintage trailer. Having a galvanizing undercoat is the perfect solution. Even my 2010 Extreme shows minor signs of corrosion from Havasu water, so having a galvanized undercoat would be a better option.

Closed deck vs MCOB is personal choice and the MCOB config is clearly popular. Having owned both configs, I too prefer a boat that holds fewer people and stows more beer below deck!

I'm guessing if you offered free shipping to Havazoo it would be sold quickly. Hope u, proud Mom & baby boy are doing great.

Thanks for the compliments Bill! Although I do love this Bullet, you did buy an awesome Nordic. The Heat has always been one of my favorites.

OK - Free Shipping it is! Make that free shipping nationwide!

Baby and Mom are doing great! Kiddo wants to go boating and he wants to go fast! He told me (yes, he speaks at 5 weeks old). Mama said no...

I cant see that distance (or the cost) keeping someone that is a serious buyer from buying this incredible boat. I traveled to Florida to look at and purchase a sand rail because it was the only one on the market that fit my needs. The right buyer will come.

Or, raise the price $15k and ship the boat to Maxed Out and let them sell it.

There are a LOT of soft/spoiled Californians that cry about driving their BMW five hours from SoCal to Havazoo let alone 20 hours roundtrip to NorCal:eek::rolleyes:

Hard to believe only 12 bullets were ever made? Are you sure? I too thought they were sought after boats.

When I was looking for one last year I called Gene to see if he knew someone that may be thinking of selling one. If I'm remembering our conversation correct he said a dozen, which was a shock to me as well. Keep in mind this count is the 28 footer. There is a 25' Bullet which may have a higher production number. They just don't come onto the market that often.

There were more than 12 made for sure. I can count 10 off the top of my head and they are all 28's.

I have no clue how many were built. I've ridden in this badass machine a few times. The stereo rocks, boat & trailer are fantastic.

I have done the same. Traveled far and wide for boats, cars, and trucks - nationwide. Truth the be told, the market for these boats is SoCal/Havasu and most folks don't want to travel. I completely understand. Last time I sold a boat, the buyer did make the trip and we spent all day on the water. The right way to show a boat!

As stated numerous times here, i keep opening to see SOLD. Have you spoken to @tim_maxedoutmarine about them consigning it for you down here? Even tho i can’t imagine a truly interested person really not wanting to drive 500 miles for this beauty, it’s not really that far.

I have spoken to Paul @ Maxed Out. Great to work with. At the moment, they don't have room indoors for this boat. I have kind of looked for Havasu storage so I can tow it there and they can sell it. This is an option.

The best $ deal for the buyer (and seller) would be if it was purchased here. I would be happy to pick up a prospective buyer from the airport and go directly to a test drive!

Folks, I can appreciate opinions on value. I like a good deal, just like anyone else. With that said, I am not here to convince anyone. Also not here to give this thing away. It is paid for and I simply don't need to.

Looking forward to hopefully enjoy it a bit more until I move on. In the meantime, I invite any serious interested party to come see the boat and make an offer. If you'd like to learn more about it, give me a call - I like talking boats!

Good chance I might actually be able to go boating this weekend. Interested parties are welcome to hop in and go for a spin. Only a swift 5 hour drive from SoCal! [emoji41]

She will join me if you stay home and baby sit. Tamara can hop in with us...wouldn't want her smelling diapers while you change them.

NEW PRICE
$73,000

I may not be the best babysitter but I haven't tried in a long time.

Hours remain low as this boat just lets summer slip on by. Needs to find a good home where she'll get some exercise!

Ok here goes the stupid question

Would the value drop out completely of this was made into a walk thru open bow?

Would lose all structural strength. Wtob's are designated molds. Could make it a mcob.

Your boat is beautiful can't believe it hasn't sold yet.Screw the open bow and wtob. Closed bow 28 bullet in my opinion is one of the nicest made.Like boatnam2 said selling half assed boats in the 40's now.

I have never seen one but I'm sure it can be done. I'm with Runs2Rrch. MCOB would be the way to go. I highly recommend taking a look inside the cabin of a Bullet. Several bulkheads stiffen up this hull. There are no creaks when you hit wakes, just a nice sturdy thud!

Depending on the region, MCOB's do bring more value than a closed bow. Personally, I prefer the closed. Much cleaner look IMO.

Had a great time logging a few more hours Sunday! Should have double checked - probably about 175 hours now.

Also took a few pictures of my favorite rigging feature. Batteries, battery switch, and trim pump neatly tucked away under the back seat.
