Regretfully, I need to sell my beautiful Hallett to build another boat that’s friendlier to the aging members of my family. It’s a 2006 Hallett 335-T MCOBwith Whipple Stage 4 upgraded Mercury Racing 600 SCI engines and Mercury Racing ITS steering boxes coupled to IMCO SCX Uppers and Mercury Racing Sportmaster lowers. The props are Mercury Racing Maximus 32” pitch short tubes, factory lanes. The engines and boat have about 430 hours since new but the top ends were totally redone at 385 by SoCal Speed and Marine and Pro Marine on LHC. Just recently, BCM of LHC went through the engines and did leak downs, compression tests, new spark plugs and a coil and gave the engines a clean bill of health. I myself just recently did all fluids and filters with AmsOil and Torco products, Mercury racing filters as well as 4 new Lifeline batteries and two new bilge pumps (installed by Octane Marine)

At the helm are Livorsi gauges, throttle and shift controls and a Hallett steering wheel. Boat has electric drop out bolsters with electric adjustable air suspension and of course we added the Mercury base link kit, Simrad NSS 9 Evo 3 MFD, marine designs trim box, Livorsi cup holders, underwater lighting, new electric hatch ram, Fireboy status indicator light for onboard Halon fire suppression, custom fender deck pins, custom Hallett tie ropes, fender covers, anchor lines, new 1” stainless Bimini and we upgraded the old stereo receiver to a JL MM100 unit to go along with the factory installed JL audio throughout. I have all receipts for work done to boat as well as the trailer which was completely redone by Adrenaline Trailers in LHC to the tune of $40,000 or so. I’ve got way more money invested in this boat than I should or am asking so whoever gets it is getting a deal. New build equivalent from Nordic is over $400,000 and a year wait time.

Asking $200,000

A deck boat for sure but not sure on brand. I've got about 6 quotes right now between 8 months to 3 years out for delivery. Between $175,000-$330,000 depending on what model and power would be stock 565 or 600.
Question for the 3 year build.... Are they expecting money down and progress payment during that time? I would be damn to put money down on that lead time.

$10,000 down, 33% due at design finalization, 33% due at rigging and final 33% due at delivery.
That's crazy..... IMO if taking 3 yrs to build I'll pay you when done... To much can happen and WTF am I going to do with a motor/drive when the company locks up....

I would do this with one west coast company and they don't build decks....

I cannot stop laughing ....3 yrs.......

I think you’re paying to get on the wait list. If it’s who I think it is your actual build time is inside 6 months

Wait list / build time still not paying to wait 3 yrs. Soooo much can happen in that time.

Pretty sure i know as well, perhaps they should invest in an additional mold.

If this was an east coast offshore builder I wound't have the same stance...

There are shops that bang out boats, and there are shops that take their time to build a perfect piece every time. And those with the long waiting list are those that take their time!!

West Coast boats builders? Anyone other than DCB shouldn't be 3 yrs, as they are not as "custom". I'll take a stab as say DCB is "not" 3 yrs out. But I've been wrong many times before.

Howard has been back logged for years, and I’m sure we’re all trying to discuss them here. They put one boat on the water and get 2+ orders immediately after. And there’s a reason all we see is their deck boats coming out of there, and you’ve never heard a single complaint on any of them. I feel some may be thinking less of them now with a new owner, but does anyone even know who owns Eliminator or DCB …..as long as Mike is still running the show, and there’s zero doubt he’ll keep his father’s legacy rolling there will be zero issues.

Also it’s not been the shops that build one at a time that go BK, Magic was smashing hulls out like no other, that’s what caused their bk Eliminator started doing some similar as well purchased that huge facility in the face of the economical collapse and that’s the only reason Bob went BK.
Howard is still Howard and i definitely don’t see them collapsing.

DCB is very open with who owns it. Eliminator has Jake, but also silent owners behind him.
To be honest, Magic went BK, because the owner was playing games with how he was structured and playing with flooring company money (lawsuits still ongoing). 100% spot on the Bob. That new facility needed 20 boats a month to break even.

That has changed. When I was helping JW at Ultra, it was 10k down (max you can do in CA), 30% due when you were next for the mold (design was usually finalized weeks before that), 30% at rigging, 25% at interior and 15% at delivery.

Sweet boat, I had a great time running with you on the dam run. You’re going to miss having twins if you go single in the next one.

I only have it listed here and clearly it's not moving. Not even a low low ball.
I have a friend with a similar age, nice 300 for less than half that and he hasn't received one call in 3 months. Market is definitely changing. With new single screw custom boats going for $200 you'd think this would move. Dunno

If it’s not aluminum, catamaran or doesn’t have Outboards, it ain’t selling.

You guys think boat builders are backed up and insane for charging deposits........ Try to go build a new sand car lol. Funco is 2 years out and completes a car every two weeks. I think its about the same payments set up. $30k down for your spot, 100k for the motor and trans, and then the remaining balance when the car is finished. I'm sure tatum is up there with their lead times as well. Crazy to think if I had $250k-300k cash ready to go and dropped it off on one of these boat builders or sand car builders desk they would tell me "thanks, see you in two years" 😂 I just stick with buying used junk and rebuild it myself lol

He started high at 105k, lowered to 90k. He should have started at 65-70k.

That’s because of UAE $$$$. If that wasn’t around the sand car mfg guys would be a lot slower.

Maybe, but a 270 like yours and mine woulda brought 65-70 just 6 months ago. Not sure $65 would be logical unless it was a stressed sale (it's not) even today. I will say again, the one I note is VERY good. Fact is, it is only worth what someone will pay, so I guess we'll see.

The funny part is everyone wants a 27 over a 30. Average boaters are scared of twins and the size.

"Clearly"????? Dude, PATIENCE man!!!!! You've got to wait more than a WEEK!!!! My 240 was top notch and I waited 3-4 months before I found a buyer. You got the dough, just go appease the wife and put the money down on the new boat (if you haven't already) and sit back and have a beer. You CAN get the right money for this thing but you have to be patient enough for the buyer that "has to have" this boat. We've talked numbers, I think your range is right and fair but you gotta be more patient than ONE WEEK. Not every Tom, Dick or Harry can buy top notch stuff like this, gotta wait for the right guy. IT STILL is my DREAM Powell boat but just not the right time right now. Might be ready in 3-5 years but who knows where it will be by then.

It will never be "the time".

Its not really a ton of UAE money anymore. We're redoing a funco in our shop right now and have been talking to Grant alot. He said they got 20 new orders at the SSSS alone. Its insane to me that people dropping money like that right now. Ballers will be ballers!

Time is money! LOL, It's not a distressed sale, all paid for and title is in the safe, so it may sit on this website for the next five years until you're ready. With the house build, and a potential business purchase, can't swing everything at once. Not willing to commit to a new build until I have this one gone. However, if it is not gone, I may keep and build later after the house is finished and Biden is retired.

I consider my boat to be SUPER competitively priced, and traffic in it has really slowed. It will sell, just has to get seen by the right buyer, and I would say that about yours. It appeals to a pretty limited group, and all it takes is one person in that group to see it.

I'd advise you to use a broker. Mine places ads in all publications at his cost and handles all shenanigans.... I only get involved when they need to launch for survey. Last go fast went to Kona in a cargo container.... never met the guy or spoke to him. Broker handled it all for 5%... holler if want contact.

Technically at your cost when they charge 7-10 percent.
