20 spectra with outboard

There is one for sale right now with an evinrude 225. Not interested in this boat, more to build one myself. Anyone have any experience with a spectra with outboards? I'd ideally like to hang a Merc 2.5 260/280 or even 2 of them maybe, off the back.

Mike Avila had twin 2.5's on his 20 Spectra quite a while ago. He was into triple digits with it.

I personally wouldn't hang a 260 or 280 off a Spectra. There are a ton of better options available that will make a lot more bottom end power to push it around. Look for something in the 3.0 or 3.2L platform, Opti or X motors.
