Mr Harley, I know that boat very well and with a 625 ILMOR no stand off, they can see low 80's in the right conditions. Lets not forget that boat was set for family and fun, their system kills it and they never run light... Plus that was the first 29 walk thru, heavy is what im getting at! Regardless, and we can have a beer over this , the latest 29's with 300's will run in the 90's if setup for speed...

a twin 496 has seen 96 mph empty in the winter is what the owner said

I have run dead spot on 99MPH next to a twin 300x 29 with 4 onboard and full tanks,
Yes they can break 100mph and have done it..
There is no way in hell a twin 496 can perform the same as a 29 with twins... in any condition...

I have driven Harleys boat in every condition and the best I saw was 68

My boat has run 108 with 3/4 tanks and 106 in a 2 foot chop across the basin in havi...
There are owners who claim 113mph.... Who knows

as far as fuel the 29 with 496 will kill ya on gas compared to 300x's

I hear there are mosquitos in the reeds ...
I can see i need to take a spin out there and do some clearance..

Interesting. I had no idea the 29's ran that well with 300's. I would never guess they would be that close to the same speed as the 26. 107/108 is the number I heard on the 26.

Thats closer to what I was told. The numbers weren't pretty, but the boat itself was.

Wow I thought I remember that boat running well over 68! THats so crazy to me considering I have a single 700sci (whipple dynoed at 669) and I get 101 in good conditions, mid to high 90's in summer.... I dont know what the 625 dyno's in at but I do know their gear case on their lower is much faster then an NXT as well.... Its hard to believe that the two boats are off over 30 mph......

Whatever.... the 29 with a single 496 is crazy talk... but i do remember a guy built a 29 with a 525 (before I had mine) planning on doing a whipple SC in the future, thought he said low 70's on a good day....
