After 40 years of drooling over these ultimate river cruiser hot rods . I finally joined the club .

Thank you to Paul at Outdrive 1 marine sales .
A couple weeks ago he listed this 87’.
I responded right away . I want it . Gave him my offer . He checks with seller.
Seller agrees that was a few Tuesdays ago .

I finish my day at work on Thursday . Was super excited . Didn’t sleep much for a couple days.
Went to go get a cashiers check for boat . Told Paul , I’ll pick it up on Saturday morning May 4 .
We were going up to Parker to Hang out with my kids . That weekend . Perfect . Pick up Schiada and play all weekend .

Well right , when I was on my way to bank.
. Paul calls me and says seller is selling boat to his freind . Devastated and bummed . I figured it wasn’t meant to be .

Wife and I head to Parker with our cp outboard
Friday. Was happy as my grandchild and kids were having a good time.
Saturday this same boat was going by our place a few times . Talk about putting salt on a wound . I’m like “there it is “ . Bummed again .

We go home early on Sunday . it was a total blow out , with wind Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

Thinking about what could have been .

Tuesday May 7th Paul pm’s me early, says sellers freind, backing out of deal . I text Paul
I want it . I sent a check right away .
Just to make sure .
Boats mine. Just saw Schiada in pictures .
Super excited . No sleep again .
We wanted a stern drive , just easier for my wife to drive. Less to deal with .
Picked it up Saturday morning from Paul’s house .
Put it in water and drove around for a few hours . Boat is super nice , love the colors and I’m very happy .
Nervous on first ride , but was a lot more comfortable , as the day went on .
I guess it was meant to be
Wanted to say a huge
Thank you to Paul.

Nice boat. A little history on that one. It was the first boat with a deck like that. I believe it is the plug used to make the RT deck mold.
Ty
I like it , wasn’t 100 💯 sure . But since it’s mine now . I’m 💯 on the rt deck on the rc bottom .
A little different.

Very cool. I've had a couple deals that I thought were done and seller had a family member or a former owner see it for sale and say "sorry I feel really bad but " recently. Lol. Glad it worked out for your 21. Looks bitchen!

Whats in it for a motor and outdrive? I friends dad had a mid-80s in those colors with a Twin Turbo chevy and first Volvo Penta Duo-prop in one of those hulls. Later on he had the 21' River tunnel with same colors but is now all White.

So
Since we broke a lifter last month
I guess it was time to do a few mods

Motor is at QMP
For a freshen and a bump in power

Starting with a new Ss rub rail
Filling holes in the dash . Where stereo , trim, and few others
New gauges and bezels
Powder coat trim tabs black
Hyd steering to the helm
A few imperfections in gel coat
Color sand and buff
New side interior panels to remove speaker holes
Cut exhaust tips down , to straight tips
Will start with Ss rub rail pictures
