Time to mock up the boat for the bunks. Finally a roller.

Had my friend followed me down the street to make sure the trailer tracks straight.

Gotta get a lower drop hitch for it to be more leveled and we're golden.

Pretty damn happy.

Looks great so far. I bet the additional tongue weight will make trailering much nicer.

Loaded the boat onto the trailer today.

Got some pressure treated wood. Cut some 3" x 1/4" flat bar and bent 90 for the bunks.

Kinda wish I woulda got 3/16 steel instead of 1/8. Trailer flex a good amount for my liking. Most likely will be fixed with gussets.

Will flip the axles and put them on bottom of the leaf spring. Way too slammed.

Looks cool though.

You are not joking about being low! I bet you still have a good departure angle since your rear axle is so close.

Hope your flex fix is easy.

it has a Jack plate no? Can’t you just lift the motor more? Motor doesn’t trailer? Like I/o?

Gonna leave the trailer raw? Or going to powdercoat it?

Just trying to to tilt it like crazy. I'm getting a shorter mid section so it will defintiely help.

Goal is to have it finished by Thursday night so I can send it to Embee powder coat Friday morning. There's an event June 10th I'm trying to make. Hopefully everything goes well.

15" midsection and setback bracket finally came. Trying to get this prop out of the water more. Idiot that mounted the jackplate to the transom, mounted it too low. (Me)

I was hitting a wall at 75mph with 1500 rpm more to go. Friend said the prop is too leveled with the bottom. Hopefully this works.

My transom hangs off the bunks like that and guess what, there is a crack from the weight of the outboard, transom core wood, etc all hanging off the back of the bunks, right at the place where the bunk ends. Perfect pivot point to crack it. I did some searching and sure enough it happened to other people. They recommend when building a trailer that the bunks hang out aft of the transom (longer than boat) to fully support it.

I know you just rebuilt that transom strong as hell, but it could happen in....20 years, lol.

That was just quickly laid on there. I moved wood up to the bracket and also moved the boat forward 4".

I honestly don't think ill have this boat for that long. haha Maybe 3-5 years.

Mounted the bunks tonight. That definitely stiffened up the frame.

Drilled a countersunk for the carriage bolt so it doesn't mess up the hull. Gotta keep it smoothhh

Then..... got carried away with the trailer. Added some gussets and front carpet boards cause I don't know why. Looks cool and I tend to be extra.

that wood in the front of the trailer has always been something i thought of doing. but you being so talented why not just weld some screen material instead or wood?

This was last night random idea. I had a 4x8 wood sheet laying around. Plus I like the carpet look also.

Upgrading to side steer for a better peace of mind. Old set up is held by a 3/8 bolt. Sketchy to me. Rather be safe than sorry.

IMCO is a great company to work with. Great customer service.

I Like the wood filler pannels alot. would be cool to make them out of metal and box in some of the area for a storage compartment for...things and stuff.

Chris,

Who did the work on your midsection? The guy I was planning on using is all the way over in South Carolina. Is there someone here in SoCal that does this??

The trailer looks damn good too! I'm glad you left it at that height. 👍

It's brand new from mad efi. Nobody shortens the 3.0 offshore mids. Who's in South Carolina? Some popular dude right?

As for the trailer. If I would've flipped the axles, it would raise it 4". That's too high for me. Haha

Another day of the trailer.

I wanted quick way to remove the fenders just in case something happens. Blow out, new wheels with different offset, who knows.

So I used tube connectors and welded it to the frame. Couple Allen heads and remove the whole thing. I'll be welding the wheel side to a 1/8 thick sheet thats the same shape as the fender. Fender attaches to the sheet. Hope this makes sense.

Mounted the lights, pretty self explanatory.

Also added a gusset to the rear end.
