I'm looking for history/info on this classic ski race boat...so I'm calling on all of you for help!
This is the lightest laid up Schiada flat bottom I've ever seen. Thinnest stringers I've ever seen in one of these, speed coated bottom, recessed strut flush with the bottom, cav plate fins, and the glassed in passenger seat mount is way forward intentionally for a turned around observer seat. Leonard built this boat to ski race, no doubt. Until yesterday, the boat was owned by a fella named Herb who bought the boat ages ago by man who used it for ski racing in the golden days. He thinks he lived in the Yorba Linda area. The boat originally had a big built motor but the owner replaced it with a stock 427 before selling it to Herb. The boat is painted, but there appears to be yellow gel under the paint possibly.
Any one know the history or recognize it? Any one know an old ski race guru that might?
