Not sure how many 22s they built with drag motors, but we were at castsic when Teague and Colby were testing one. We sat by the dam as they went past us about a half a dozen times. They stopped near us and we asked . Between 125 and 127 mph. Sounded so beautiful.

This thread makes me remember going to the LA boat shows when I was a kid and drooling over your guys' display. I remember several years you had 3 boat on display if I'm remembering correctly.... the 22, the 26 (when you first came out with it) and the Vee bottom. The twins were always my favorite though.

The one that Roger owns with the twin 15" drags.

Back story is... We (Paul Miller and myself) DCB built this classic 19' Daytona back in 1996 for a customer named Rod. He saw the light black and red 19' Daytona we built as a drag boat. It was when the 15" 2.5 260 HP Merc Racing outboard debuted. When Rod saw the black one he wanted a replica but make the black base white. He did want more of a family style with a full interior, jack plate, ski-pylon, and even a Bimini top. We of course were happy to oblige. The cool part is we did have Bob Leach insert the mold to elevate the center pod to make it more conducive for the outboard set-up. The boat came out bitchen and it has had a few owners and spent some time in Northern California on the Delta.

Fast forward to now... I reached out to Rick at Maxed out Marine @MaxedOutMarine and wanted to find a Mach 22 with twins. The one I wanted is owned by the same gentleman that owned this one. He unfortunately will not part with my dream Mach 22 with twin drag 2.5's but maybe someday... Rick contacted me a few months later and said he had a little something up his sleeve. When he sent me the pic of the 19 I told him I had to have it... This boat is all original and so well taken care of. This is why I pulled the trigger. As I get older, we start to think more about where we came from and reflect more on where we are now. I have been doing what I do for 32 years and am truly blessed to be where I am today. I truly mean this. Life is good and I cherish these memories more now than ever. The best part of is the relationships that are made in this industry.

So, I did buy this without hesitation!! Made the purchase the day after our beloved president Trump was elected and this will forever be one of the coolest days ever.

Now I have a cool boat to tow behind my dually. It all fits

I want to personally thank Rick, Roger, and Tim for making this happen. Let's make boating great again!!

Cheers all,

Yes this one did begin with an Arneson and it was a handful. Not sure who put the IMCO drive on.
I'm late to the party on this thread Tony. If I remember correctly, a broker in the Folsom Area (Sacramento Area) converted it to the outdrive. I want to say his name is Tony also. After it was converted, the new owner hit something underwater, and the hull was totaled. Maybe around 5 years ago. A new hull was built, and all the hardware was swapped over to the new hull. At least that is how I remember it.

Congrats on the purchase of the 19. I have spent a decent amount of time in that boat. It is a fun ride.

Thats the way I remember it also.
I didn’t shoot the original boat but did the replacement.
