Awesome, it's almost broke-inFinally hit 100k on my duramax. Only took 15 years to do it
I hit 204,000 on mine in ten years. Never had to do the brakes. Kinda still wish I had it...
Easy answer. Just drive uphill for most of the timeI can’t figure out how GM gets such long brake life outta their HD trucks…

When it's on the tow truck you don't need brakes.I can’t figure out how GM gets such long brake life outta their HD trucks…

I gave my 04 GMC CrewCab Duramax‘I’ve got 2001 2500 HD crew, 193,000miles, original brakes. I don’t know how they di it butI like it.

To my grandson with 585,000 miles on it.
It’s at 611,000 rt now.
No brakes until 520,000 mi.
My 07 LBZ has 226,000 currently.
I would like a new truck but I’m scared of all the def and regulations with diesels.
I just bought a 2007 LMM w/ 230K on it…a few leaks from the cooler lines, idler and pitman were wiped out, rear seat insulators were broken and the drivers door latch was worn out so it had some rattles…but it drives like new with all that shit fixed. I imagine it’ll need injectors at some point, so still trying to decide whether to keep this or my 1500HD…I don’t really have anything heavy to tow, but torque is kinda nice. The 1500HD doesn’t have any of that.
I imagine I’d need some sort of a tune to keep from setting a code? Will it still pass the visual smoke part of the test with a gutted DPF?No one steals cats from a diesel. Haha!! Do what I did and bust out the ceramic media in there anyway. Passes the visual/no questions.
I have an 07 classic 162,ooo miles and while I want a new truck …… I really don’t want a new truck
I have a turbo vein issue check engine light on but it runs just fine, the light has been off / on for 3 years! P003 code if I remember correctly

I’m going swap out the turbo... It’s like a $3000 dealy-O!
When I got the Fleece braided lines they are longer than stock, because of that, you can flip your tranny cooler up and into the air stream instead of behind your bumper.Nice ride @Duramax. Any other transmission/cooler upgrades? I’m looking to upgrade the cooling system next.
I also run a lift pump (AirDog) along with an Amsoil dual remote bypass system. Albeit redundant, a Nicktane billet filter head assembly is a nice upgrade since the lift pump handles priming. Nice to have another 2-micron filter downstream and not have to worry about rebuilding the factory filter head

I sold my LMM and bought my dad's 04 LLY. He's the original owner and has 249k grandpa miles on it, lots of changes in the works to handle the toyhauler.

I had the iDash in my old truck and just put the CTS3 in this one. Still have to install a few more sensors. I'll be adding the egt probe, and sensors to monitor lift pump psi and engine oil temperature. The can is just so you get a size referenceWhat do you guys think of the digital gauge monitors out there? I’m liking the Edge Insight
Thanks man! I'm sure a trans will be in my future as well. This has a lot of the same upgrades as yours and still have a pile of parts to install including l5p oil cooler, fass, kryptonite front end, removing cat & efi live from starlite diesel so I can ditch the hypertech. Towed my trailer with it this morning and did well but the power difference from my lmm to this is very noticeable. The lly is a solid motor. Things I did to my 05 for towing my toy hauler/performance was a cold air intake, lbz turbo mouth piece, 4” exhaust, Kennedy diesel fan clutch w/new thermostats, banks economind tuner, and added Firestone airbags with the on board air kit. Lly’s run hot, the mods above help keep temps in check. Also pulled out the cooling stack and rinsed behind the radiator/Transvcooler/etc and got all the leaves bugs and crap that restrict air flow. The truck has been great. I’ve got an Inglewood trans build coming soon along with new downtime and fass fuel pump in the future. You’ve got a good looking truck man
